We had the good fortune of connecting with Cornelius Washington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cornelius, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to make an Empire for artists by artists. Art empire focuses on art, and fashion at the moment but eventually it will focus on anything that has to do with the Arts like, art, fashion, dance, music, poetry, etc. it will eventually be a platform for anyone in the arts to show off their gifts and be compensated for their gifts. We are already planing some new events so stay tuned to see what happens next.

What separates you from other artists?
I’m a freelance artist, but what sets me apart from others is the range of styles that I do. For example, I do graphic designs like Logos, illustrations, concept art and cover art like album covers. I also do fine arts. which is a canvas art style. I normally paint images that have to do with the human body or abstract. All though, my unique style is turning 2D art in to 3D art. I would have never made it this far if it wasn’t for my loving Mom, and my family and friends. It definitely wasn’t easy getting this far in my journey but my connections and family and friends and I cant forget my fans and supporters definitely made it easier. One thing I want the world to know is that this is just the beginning. I’m not done yet! Stay tuned.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A few of my favorite places to go out to is Skully’s Music-Diner, Avalon. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
