We had the good fortune of connecting with Josh B. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Josh, what do you want your legacy to be?
Every time my name is mentioned I would want it to be mentioned in the same context as “IMPACTFUL”. I’ve always had that “take lead” mentality. In this world we live in now we have enough people steering our next generation in the wrong direction and it has to stop! Their souls as well as mines are so precious to my heart and is important to me. I truly believe my assignment here on EARTH is not to just make music people can ride to but more importantly make an impact through my music revealing the authenticity in me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being a gospel artist was never in my plans. Well at least not in my written plans, obviously GOD had his assignments for me. It started with just one recording session with a dope engineer out of Birmingham,Al by the name of Rashuwn Brown; he gave me my first shot. I didn’t believe in myself in the early parts of my career because I wasn’t aware of my gift. During those times I’ve faced many hard situations such as getting robbed at gunpoint and having my possessions taken away from me. It was an eye opener and I almost gave up but ..GOD! At that moment I realized it’s bigger than me, it’s not about me, it’s about the impact that I can make just by telling my story through music. That was the driving force to where I am now.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in the city of Birmingham,Al born and raised here, and I can definitely feel the atmosphere changing for us. My favorite spots to go in the city would be Topgolf, Dave & Busters, Stix, and Baumhowers, just to name a few. I’m a big kid at heart so you may find me at one of those trampoline parks every now and then. They are currently building a new stadium for the UAB blazers and that will bring lots of new faces to the city for sure. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My biggest inspiration is my daughter MacKenzie, not just because she’s my daughter but at the age of 3 she is quoting my lyrics to my songs word for word. When I hear that it becomes the ultimate motivation tool to continue making “impactful” music. Of course I have to SHOUTOUT my label Power Music Group for putting me in the best position to succeed not only in front of the mic but when the cameras and microphones not on. Every member of the label impacted my life in a major way. So I want to thank Heavy, GODSGIFT, Kimmie, & Dj Rick. Love you guys.
