We had the good fortune of connecting with Michele Bell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michele, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have a love of numbers and a passion for connecting with small-business owners and helping them grow financially into their vision. I grew up through the ranks of corporate finance and accounting at several Fortune 500 and 100 companies and with a stint as a CFO at a start-up. All of those experiences have given me a well-rounded insight into large scale financial controls and analysis and how to cater those to fit a small-business without over burdening it. At a pivotal point in my career, I realized that if I am going to work this hard then I would rather work for myself. I wanted to build a business that afforded me flexibility and control over my financial future. So, I took the plunge and created ClearPath Associates, LLC. I am motivated by all the entrepreneurs out there that have a passion for their own business and I love being able to help push them forward by providing my expertise in finance and accounting. I am always excited to hear about new business ideas and ventures. It is so inspiring!

What should our readers know about your business?
We are a soup to nuts boutique accounting and financial advisory firm. We serve the underserved market of small business entrepreneurs who just can’t afford a bookkeeper, controller, AND a CFO. We provide a big picture view with a small business entrepreneur mindset at a price the small business owner can afford. Since 2016, we’ve been helping small business owners navigate accounting and finance within their business. And we like to have FUN while doing so! You see the vision! We drive profitability!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, first of all, I love the outdoors and staying active. So, I would take them on a running tour around Atlanta visiting the Beltline, Piedmont Park, and the in-town neighborhoods. As far as eating and drinking, my favorite local hangout is bar.bacoa in Virginia Highland. Great tacos and great margaritas! If my friend wanted to get out of town, then we would be running the trails in Blue Ridge, cooking out and enjoying cocktails by the fire pit.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When I first made the decision to go into business for myself, my friend Aparna Sharma provided tremendous help in crafting my message and story and giving me the confidence to move forward. My husband has been and is still my biggest supporter and keeps me pushing towards my goals. And a big shout out goes to all my current clients that trust me to manage their financials and books and help grow their business.
