We had the good fortune of connecting with Sabine Henderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sabine, what principle do you value most?
I believe in chasing your purpose over success. When I look back on all my so called success, it was never enough. I found myself always searching for the next thing that would make me feel validated. But as I began to chase my purpose, I realized I was living and working for a purpose that was bigger than me, It made me feel more secure about myself. I don’t really care how people see me now, so I can focus more on how I am impacting peoples lives and my community.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the owner of Sabine Jean. Under the brand we have a skincare line. The skincare line uses raw, natural ingredients, without toxic chemicals, that is safe for all skin types including babies. We give back 10% of all sales to the homeless community. I relocated from Atlanta to Los Angeles as a hair stylist. Due to some unforeseen, unfortunate events, it pushed me into the business I have today. It definitely was not easy. I give God all the glory. If it wasn’t for Him and his provision, I definitely would not be who I am today. Their where times I wanted to give up, but because of his promise to me, it keeps me going. The journey taught me patience and blind trust in God. I would never imagine myself doing what I am doing today. My journey was a true testament of blind faith, and my trust in the Father (God). My brand was birth out of pain but it instrumented my growth and will also be instrumental in the growth of my community and the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To be honest with you I don’t really go out like that. I love the beach and going to Yogurt Land. I would probably go to the Cheesecake Factory to get my favorite salad. The mango salad with avocado! I know pretty boring right lol.The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am grateful to my husband, Quinton Henderson, for supporting me through my journey. My pastor, Calvin Roberson, and his beautiful wife, Wendy Roberson, for being my spiritual advisers and trusted friends. My close friend Marie Box-Barnes, for always being my sounding board and my rock, and my village for loving me and encouraging me. My mom, Maryse Scutt, and sister, Sandra Burton, for supporting me when times got hard. Also a big thanks to Brian Barfield for the prophetic word he delivered to me that encouraged me to take that leap of faith to leave Atlanta and come to Los Angeles.
