We had the good fortune of connecting with William & Kristen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi William & Kristen, why did you pursue a creative career?
For us not only as Podcast Hosts but also Hairstylists, creativity runs in our blood. We don’t really do anything “inside the box”. When our professional career as Hairstylists was put on hold due to the Pandemic, we knew we had to do something with our down time. We had previously discussed starting a comedy podcast but never really followed through because of our daily lives being complex. When we were shelter in place we both felt many different things and we knew that others were as well. We decided to follow through with our ideas of having a podcast and mostly because we wanted to bring some comedy to those around the world who were feeling like we were.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We (Kristen and Will) have both been through some really interesting and also some scary situations as we have lived our best lives. When starting our Podcast, “Colour You Next Tuesday” we knew we had to share the intense yet funny stories about our lives. What some people enjoy doing when sharing stories with best friends privately, we have managed to do through our voices and our listeners ear buds. What sets us apart from others is we want to be authentic, raw and real within our topics and the things we discuss. In today’s world people often feel they need to hold back from being completely authentic. That mind set will eventually discourage people from having real honest conversations about how they feel and what they’ve been through because of embarrassment or shame. Through our lives and our journeys we have managed to be able to find the confidence in ourselves to be open about some of the most serious situations and also some of the most hilarious ones (and yes, they’re all true). From stories of warding off would be attackers to crazy Grandmother’s causing defendants to literally drop dead on the stand, our podcast has it all. Though it is not always easy to openly share such insane parts of our lives, nothing in life worth wild is easy. It’s a labor of love and an appreciation for having been able to survive such insane situations and laugh at them later. At first it was a little uncomfortable to share of some things that we have, as vulnerability is not our strong suit. However, when our listeners started to personally write us and share they too have been through similar things and have learned to laugh those things off like we do. It made it all worthwhile and it changed our perspective and we now no longer hold anything back. What we would like the world to know from our experiences is, that no matter what hardships you’ve been through, don’t ever let it define you. It’s one thing to be a survivor of something, it’s an entirely different feeling to survive it and be able to laugh about it later. That’s exactly what “Colour You Next Tuesday” is all about.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First, we would take them to Ponce City Market for lunch and then dinner would be Buford Highway with all those awesome international restaurants. Then to the rooftop at Clermont Hotel. There, we would continue to have amazing adult beverages and if we got a little more saucy, we would head down to the lounge. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We find it to be important to recognize our Husbands. Being that we discuss insane topics on our Podcast and share very deep personal stories about our own lives, it can sometimes cause embarrassment for family members or partners. Through the many episodes that we’ve released, we have had nothing but the best support system from our spouse’s. Though we often say things that they may not be able to appreciate 100%, they’ve allowed us to be free thinkers and know that we are allowing other’s to find the humor in our relatable conversations. They have a true understanding that our Podcasting is something we have fallen in love with and they have grown to realize the impact we have made for our listeners.
