We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Gordon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
There are times where I’m so tired, after working all day then going to a practice or show exhausted, like body hurting mind just worn down, but I get so much energy and fulfillment from being around my friends, loved ones and community it makes everything worth it and it’s the most I enjoy any part of the week/day/year/life

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I play music in a bunch of different bands around the city.
My favorite part about music and the music scene here is the community aspect to it. We all will come together book things ourselves, run it make sure everyone is good. It’s unfortunate that the city is being bought out and turned into a condo and bland expensive food and drink graveyard but we are all we have to fight against it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For food I’d go somewhere smooth like pollo primo, smashing eats ATL, el progresso maybe some spots on Buford highway.

If we wanna hit up a club I like a lot of the artists that clubvampiros has been having on, maybe hit up mjq

Also plenty of places to volunteer, like Atlanta community food bank.
