We had the good fortune of connecting with Leneé Mitchell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leneé, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process I had behind starting my business was taking home 100% of my money, making my own schedule, running my business completely different than companies I’d worked for in the past, building my OWN brand, etc. The typical thinking points, though right or wrong, my true thinking process.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What’s sets me apart from others is simple, there can only be one me. Everyone has their style, their technique and I have mines. Again, I don’t know other peoples’ journey or what they had to go through to get where they are. I can only speak for myself and my experience, and what I do know is that very often I get the feedback that my threading technique is not as uncomfortable as others. That’s not to down anybody else, that’s just my experience. I am most proud of all of my accomplishments, from going to school multiple times, to graduating, to moving and accomplishing the same goals and actually seeing them through. I’m excited about the path and the journey that I am about to embark on, the people I am about to meet, the rooms I’m going to enter, the tables I’m going to sit at, things I’m going to learn, blessings I’m going to receive, the woman I’m going to become. That’s unmatched! There were a lot of challenges that I overcame, but I stayed true to myself, my morals, my family and my daughter and most importantly, I stayed true to my visions and dreams. I learned to never give up, believe in trust in yourself because no one else will like you will, I learned not to trust and believe in people, personally and professionally. I learned to invest in yourself and be selfish at times. To do my own research and don’t expect hand outs. I want the world to know who Articulate Brows is. What she is and what she stands for. What she believes in and most importantly what she can do for you? I can transform your brows without completely destroying them and simply not caring about the integrity of your brows. I listen to my clients and their wants. I establish relationships with my clients because I care and I want them to trust me with their brows or body waxing. Another thing I want the world to know is that I can’t be stopped. Whatever I set my mind to, I’m going to do it. So remember me and look out for me because you never know what I’ll do or accomplished next!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a seafood girlie, so any seafood spot I’m on it

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank God first, for ALL of my accomplishments and blessing me with the talents and creativity that He gave me. I want to thank my family, my extended family, my mentor The Brow Bully, my educators. Every boss that had given me a chance and a platform to perform and perfect my craft and become better and better at what I do. I especially want to personally thank my clients for supporting me, trusting me, holding me accountable, being there for me and just loving me for being who I am personally and professionally.
