We had the good fortune of connecting with Ebony Wedner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ebony, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success has been believing in myself, even when others didn’t. Throughout my journey, I’ve had to create my own opportunities, take risks, and trust my vision. From starting tattooing while serving in the Army to building my business and pursuing modeling and acting, I’ve learned that no one will believe in your dream more than you do.

I also think my versatility has played a big role. I never limited myself to one path. Instead, I embraced all of my passions and found ways to make them work together. That willingness to step outside my comfort zone and keep evolving has helped me build both my career and my brand.

Most importantly, I don’t give up. No matter the setback, I keep moving forward, and I think that determination is the foundation of everything I’ve accomplished.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is about helping people tell their stories. As a tattoo artist, I create custom pieces that are meaningful to each client, whether they represent a loved one, a life experience, or simply something they’re passionate about. I love the fact that tattooing allows me to create something permanent that people carry with them for the rest of their lives.

What sets me apart is my journey and perspective. I’m not just a tattoo artist, I’m also an Army veteran, published model, actress, and entrepreneur. Those experiences have shaped the way I connect with people and approach my work. I understand that everyone’s story is different, and I strive to create artwork that reflects that individuality.

Professionally, I got to where I am today through persistence and a willingness to take chances on myself. I started tattooing while serving in the Army in 2012 and continued developing my craft over the years. In 2016, I officially established my LLC and began my apprenticeship, which helped turn my passion into a business. Along the way, I also pursued modeling and acting opportunities, building a career that reflects all of my creative interests.

It definitely wasn’t easy. There were challenges, setbacks, and moments of uncertainty. Building a business takes time, patience, and sacrifice. I had to learn how to balance multiple careers, overcome self-doubt, and keep moving forward even when opportunities didn’t come as quickly as I hoped. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success doesn’t happen overnight. Consistency, resilience, and believing in yourself are what make the difference.

What I’m most proud of is creating a career on my own terms. I’ve never allowed myself to be limited to one title or one path. I want the world to know that my brand is built on authenticity, creativity, and perseverance. My story is proof that you don’t have to fit into a single box to be successful. You can embrace every part of who you are and turn your passions into something meaningful.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friend and I have been friends since 2002, so if she came to visit, the trip would be less about sightseeing and more about making memories. We’d spend the week catching up, laughing, and enjoying the things we love most.

The first stop would definitely be a good brunch spot because that’s where all the best conversations happen. We’d spend a day exploring Atlanta, checking out local shops, taking photos, and enjoying the city’s culture. Since we’re both creative, we’d probably visit art exhibits, attend a fashion or networking event, and support local businesses.

I’d also make sure she experienced Atlanta’s nightlife, live music, and food scene. We would try a few of my favorite restaurants, enjoy a girls’ night out, and maybe even book a spa day to relax and recharge.

One thing that’s special about our friendship is that we’ve grown together through different stages of life, so honestly, it wouldn’t matter where we went. The best part of the trip would simply be spending quality time together. After more than two decades of friendship, we’ve learned that it’s the people you’re with…not the destination…that create the best memories.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Several people and organizations have played an important role in my journey. Jessa Balough Photography helped launch my modeling career by giving me opportunities and guidance early on. Grips Ink Art Collective gave me the opportunity to become an apprentice and further develop my skills as a tattoo artist, which was a major stepping stone in my career. Most importantly, my family and friends have been my biggest supporters throughout the years. Their encouragement, belief in me, and unwavering support have helped me stay motivated and continue pursuing my goals.
