We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcelo Lopez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marcelo, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
From a young age, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to the arts. My journey began with acting and drawing, and by the age of 12 I was already exploring digital tools such as Photoshop. These early experiences allowed me to discover different creative languages and to understand how art can take many forms.

There was never a single moment when I decided “why,” because the mission was always there within me: to give a voice to artists, especially within the Latin American community, where many struggle to make a living from their art. My vision has always been to push boundaries, open doors, and show others that it is possible to pursue their passions fully.

Every project I develop carries that same message: to encourage authenticity, to remind people that they can be themselves, and to demonstrate that with determination, whatever you set your mind to can become a reality.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is not just a product of creativity—it is the result of persistence, vision, and a deep sense of responsibility toward others. What sets me apart is the way I merge storytelling, branding, and audiovisual work with a purpose that goes beyond aesthetics: I create to give a voice to those who might otherwise go unheard.

The road here has been far from easy. I come from a place where living off art often feels impossible. Many times, rejection and lack of resources made me doubt myself. Yet, I learned to turn obstacles into lessons: every “no” was a push to refine my skills, every closed door an invitation to build my own path. Balancing roles—as a filmmaker, designer, brand strategist, entrepreneur, and even barista—taught me discipline and resilience.

Along the way, I’ve learned that success is not just measured in numbers but in impact—the artist who finds confidence through my lens, the business that grows with my strategy, the family moments made possible because I didn’t give up.

My goal is to inspire, empower, and prove that dreams—no matter how far they seem—can become reality with vision, perseverance, and love.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Whenever my friends come to visit, these are the places they absolutely have to see:

In the mornings and/or evenings, visit Lake Acworth to hang out, listen to loud music, swim with friends, and sit on the sand—it has a unique vibe. And after that, take a walk through downtown Acworth.

The best places to eat that you absolutely have to go to are Wagyu House or Iron Age, Tio Lucho’s, Little Tokyo, JPresso Cafe, and Marietta Pizza Square.

And finally, for activities, it’s always good to visit the classics like Coca-Cola and the aquarium. But I like to take them to places that showcase Atlanta’s culture and art, places like Little Five Points, Marietta Square, Ponce City Market, Habitat parties, Underground Atlanta, Controller Rise, and Stereo Atlanta.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to the following people:

Kathia & Pacho: My lifelines and parents, thank you for, despite all the difficulties, now fulfilling dreams.

Esteban: My brother, my partner in every project.

169: They helped me become who I am, a persevering and determined person. They mean everything to me.

Tiziano & Bam: The first artists who encouraged me and teach me every day to be a better artist and person. They are my brothers.

Angeles: Literally the person who saved my life and gave me hope to study and pursue my dream.

Rodolfo Villalobos: For being my mentor and helping me define my dream of becoming a multidisciplinary director.

The book I recommend is “Las 21 Claves de la Creatividad” (The 21 Keys to Creativity) by Bibliana Ballbe. It was my bible during the early years of my career
