Meet Steve Langston | Two-Time Greater Atlanta Magician of the Year

We had the good fortune of connecting with Steve Langston and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Steve, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I grew up just outside Atlanta in a family that believed in humor, curiosity, and saying yes to new ideas. As a kid, I was hooked on the big, television magic specials of David Copperfield and later the street style magic of David Blaine, and I’ve been chasing that mix of wonder and surprise ever since. Joining the International Brotherhood of Magicians gave me a community that pushed me to get better and think bigger. Now, my shows are all about connecting with people, making them laugh, and giving them a story they’ll still be telling years later.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My magic is all about connection. Yes, I do tricks, but my real goal is to make people laugh, draw them into the moment, and give them a story they’ll be talking about for years. I blend comedy, audience participation, and impossible moments so every show feels unique to the people in the room.
I’m proud to have been named Greater Atlanta Magician of the Year back to back for 2023 and 2024 and to have performed for Fortune 500 companies, high-end private events, and audiences that range from black-tie galas to backyard celebrations. I’m also proud to have created original magic effects that are sold worldwide and performed by magicians everywhere. There’s nothing like seeing an idea you dreamed up become part of someone else’s show.
It wasn’t easy to get here. Breaking into the corporate and private event market meant proving I could deliver not just a show, but an experience worth talking about. I had to overcome my dislike of self-promotion by building genuine relationships, focusing on referrals, and consistently delivering more than clients expected.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned? Magic isn’t about the magician, it’s about the audience. My brand is about giving people something rare in our busy world: a shared moment of wonder and joy that brings people together. That’s what I want the world to know.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was in town for a week, I’d make sure they got the full Atlanta experience. We’d kick things off at The Battery in Smyrna for dinner, drinks, and a Braves game, maybe hitting Punch Bowl Social beforehand for some bowling and arcade games.
One afternoon we’d get a round of golf in at Fox Creek or Riverpines, then relax with some good eating at Cue Barbecue.
Another day, we might bar hop on the Beltline and explore Ponce City Market before ending the evening with a comedy show at the Laughing Skull Lounge or a magic show on the Secret Aisle of the Atlanta Supermarket.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve been lucky to have an incredible support team in my corner. My dad has been one of my biggest champions since I started performing. He’s at every public show he can get to, along with my brother, sister, and mother-in-law, and they never miss a chance to talk me up to anyone who will listen. My wife has been there through every wild idea and every marathon rehearsal, helping me turn crazy concepts into moments that really connect with people. The Georgia Magic Club, Ring 9 of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and its members have been just as generous, many of my first big shows came from fellow magicians sending work my way.
