We had the good fortune of connecting with Leo Fong and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leo, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My process began with God. I was a 17 -year -old boy, who lived in Cuba, a land with huge shortcomings and needs, and who liked music and being sociable, but still aimlessly defined and without a weight in his pocket. And having a relationship with Jesus defined the path I am walking today. Would you believe me if I told you that everything I am living right now knew that it was going to happen to me 10 years ago? And God told me about all this, that one day I would take me to the United States and get up to sing and preach and would be impact for thousands of people around the world. There have been years and years of strong preparation, not only in musical but also in forming a character and maturity to carry out a ministry at that level. There are many personal battles that could tell you how God uses the most horrible circumstance to get the best treasures from you. But even when the process has been very painful, it was worth it. There is no greatness without sacrifice. Everyone who has a dream and wishes that it becomes a reality must be willing to fight everything that is lifted to achieve it. There are no shortcuts, that’s how it is.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love music, create original, authentic music, meaning, with a real message, of hope and faith. God loves us and has a wonderful plan for our lives. That is what I’m talking about in my songs. In the growth process as an artist I have learned several lessons, from the most important are humility, empathy, recognizing our humanity and imperfections, and being excellent in everything we do. We will always remember that sacrifice and effort will lead us to achieve everything we set out. And that God will always be there for us, no matter how we are.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow, good question. I live in Miami, so the list is wide JJJ. But among my favorites is Miami Beach, Dolphin Mall, Botanical Garden of Miami Beach, and to eat is difficult, there is a lot of culinary styles, but there are for all tastes.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Of course, nobody reaches dreams alone, who tells you that I achieve it is only a liar JJJ … I thank God very much for giving me a beautiful family, a great wife and for putting men and women who have believed in my call and have built a lot with their advice and prayers in my artistic and spiritual development.
