We had the good fortune of connecting with Marco aka LetMCook and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marco, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always felt like I’m a creative person that has the ability to create something out of nothing rather than doing a particular work for a company or business I don’t own or may never be a part of. Being a creative in my opinion is a way of expression & I live for it. I’ve always wanted to make it in the world where I can showcase my talents with my production & my artwork as if it’s embodied. I need to show the world what I can do & that’s the plan. I won’t ever give up until the world sees what I can do.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My production is displayed by showcasing instrumentals that come from past & current & experiences of what’s in my own inner world. It’s all off what my vibrations can detect; there, I feel as though I can enter my mind & find or create the sounds necessary for the next project. I have trials & tribulations just like any other person, but I use those experiences to fuel my music to allow my viewers and listeners to know that even though things may go up or down, I’m still not gonna give up on what I love to do.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely invite my friend out to the area of little five points in Atlanta. Even though we’ve been there before I would definitely show him the new spots that he hasn’t discovered. Atlanta is always building new things and there’s always something new when you stroll through the downtown area leading into the Buckhead area. I’ve been around those areas for quite a while (even though recently I lived in VA for 4 years & just came back to ATL in August of last year). There’s a lot that Atlanta offers in the music scene and now that I’m back this time I showcase what I’ve learned while I was in Virginia living with my Dad being able to study audio production via YouTube, Instagram & production videos that the program FL Studio offered. I’ve been on my own without any type of schooling or certifications. Most would say I’m a freelance producer but I believe I can make it as a producer just with creative expression and hardwork. My beats have this feel of honest expression and I’m ready to change the narrative of the game, it’s time for something new & I’m willing to bet on myself to be the next big producer in the game. I’m ready for that door to open to showcase my style of Hip-Hop to the right team & artists who’ll appreciate what I create. It’s go time!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I definitely want to shoutout the fantastic Cymatics & ProducerGrind teams for their inspiration from their producer event last October in Atlanta! That event put together a lot of people varying from upcoming to legendary producers & artists who are in the game & including Steven Skunberg who is the head of the whole event. Thanks Steven! I hope to see you soon when I make my mark in the music industry!
