We had the good fortune of connecting with Austin Wheelis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Austin, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Of the many times in my life that would encourage the feeling of defeat and for me to wave the white flag, I truly never have or will give up. After the passing of my father, coach and teacher of the right way to live life passed away, this sparked the hardest time I had to endure and adapt to life without a mentor anymore. Not financially being able to make it to his funeral just fueled my fire for success and to help others just like me once I’ve unlocked the most innovative motivational never give up true life stories.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As for my work I’m 24/7 on the hustle to certify a roof (hotel or friend/stranger’s couches) just to sleep and fuel enough food for my body to function and not feel to drained to keep trying. Through all the cities and new friends I’ve diversify got to meet and humbly enjoyed hanging out with has awoken my vision on how uniquely gifted everyone is in their own way. Poor could be the happiest people and the rich the most stressed and lonely. Money isn’t the only thing that makes success but very much is needed these days just to eat a McDouble so it’s a high priority. Your passion, ambition, past, personality and relentless effort after every failure is what will make me feel I’ve succeeded. I got so many bad experiences under my belt already at age 25 being homeless and all I feel an average person would have given up many mistakes ago. I’m still here breathing, may be over-venting typing but being alive and feeling healthy today is more than a miracle and a blessing that fills me with the greatest energy and self worth positive brain affirmation thoughts flowing. The world should know of all the people I met 99% of them would allow my presence to come back and kick it with them again because I leave a positive impact on peoples perspective of life and the good tradition morale friend they can always call. World peace is needed to save the earths lasts bits of good energy and things it produces for human survival. No hating each other because we both like the same hobbies but do them culturally different. Respect will change the word. My work goal is to have influenced as many people as possible who would be unfortunately beaten and shat on by life that our dreams are still achievable with faith.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly I would keep our travels short and participate in some of the (infinite) array of activities to do in the city or in the surrounding suburbs. My choice of where to spend my time in the most safe but funnest way is downtown Atlanta’s Marriott sky view resort. Going to the very top and eating dinner staring down at the entire big (but small city being so high up) is a euphoric time.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
From my life experiences from age 12-17 ish was the safest chapters in my life. At that time my sense of well being was at the best. School, Practice, Work and repetitively doing things right. This was only because of my wonderful mother & my role model (step-dad) who was some of the greatest people to have been raised by. Then nothing lasts forever and I quickly found myself all alone and totally self independent many states away from any friends and family. This was the beginning of my misfortune’s spree of bad life luck and choices. Atlanta has been the best choice I’ve made yet for opportunities to arise that can save my life. I didn’t believe in good people still being out in this world after barely making it through 8 states on the streets for 7 traumatic years. Thankfully I made quick hobby compatible friends in Atlanta who has shown me that you could have nothing and be street driven insane but still be drifting with a smile and having the best joyful time. Becoming successful would feel unimaginably better after having the hardest time fitting in anywhere and having to go thru it all. People who just get given what they want without any work or favor in returns nor shows any gratitude for the small things are dangers to keep as friends.
