Hi Destiny, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m originally from South Carolina, just about 22 miles from the beautiful Hilton Head area. My journey has taken me through a variety of professional roles, including retail, dental management, executive recruiting, and working as an executive assistant. Growing up, I was always surrounded by the importance of helping others, and that naturally shaped who I am today. My upbringing, along with these career experiences, led me to develop a strong passion for service and dependability. I’ve been fortunate to work with some amazing companies that truly value customer care, and the lessons I’ve learned from them have been invaluable. They’ve inspired me to bring those best practices into my very own business, and for that, I’ll always be grateful!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
At You In Luxe, my work is more than just planning events—it’s an art form. Each wedding or celebration I design is a unique reflection of my clients’ stories, filled with thoughtful details that make every moment personal and unforgettable. My philosophy is simple: every love story deserves to be celebrated in a way that feels as extraordinary as the people it’s about.

What sets me apart is the boutique experience I offer. I focus on personalized service, seamless coordination, and creating guest experiences that go far beyond expectations. From collaborating with trusted, talented vendors to curating every detail, I ensure that each event is as effortless for my clients as it is memorable for their guests.

Getting to this point professionally has been a journey full of challenges and growth. Starting my business wasn’t easy—there were times when I doubted myself, juggled countless roles, and had to learn tough lessons along the way. But each challenge taught me resilience, creativity, and the importance of building a strong support system, both personally and professionally.

Today, I’m most proud of creating a brand that not only brings joy to others but also inspires my two daughters. They remind me every day to take risks, dream big, and keep pushing forward.

I want the world to know that You In Luxe is about more than just planning events—it’s about celebrating life’s most meaningful moments with heart, passion, and purpose. Whether it’s a dreamy wedding, a milestone celebration, or something in between, my goal is to bring your vision to life and create memories that last a lifetime.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d plan a week filled with fun, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences!

We’d start Sunday with an indulgent brunch at Bar Margot, located inside the Four Seasons Hotel—it’s absolutely to die for! Afterward, we’d unwind at the Woodhouse Spa in Avalon, which is nothing short of heaven on earth.

The next day, we’d head to Chateau Elan for wine tasting and a mixology class—such a fun way to mix things up! We’d spend the evening relaxing on the hammocks in the vineyards before enjoying an elegant dinner at Marc Restaurant, located right on-site. The following morning, we’d wake up to a delightful breakfast at Fleur de Lis, setting the perfect tone before heading out for some shopping and exploring.

The rest of the week? That would be planned by her! We’re both type-A planners, so I know she’d have just as much fun crafting an itinerary as I did. Together, we’d make sure every moment of the trip was filled with amazing food, beautiful places, and plenty of laughter!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Firstly, God and my mother. Without them none of this would be possible and I am blessed that God has poured this passion into me. Secondly, my greatest supporters and biggest cheerleaders are my two beautiful daughters, A’Talya and Bellamy. They are my daily source of inspiration and the reason I strive to elevate You In Luxe. Everything I do is for their future—to show them that no dream is too big, no goal is out of reach, and that they truly can be anything they want to be. I also want to teach them that it’s okay to take risks, even when they feel big and scary. Those risks are often where the most growth happens, and I want them to embrace life with courage and confidence.
