We had the good fortune of connecting with Hailey Holloway and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hailey, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly, I was nervous I didn’t really know where to start .. but I knew I wanted to work for myself and nobody else. I always had a hustle mindset I got that from my dad for sure, but I’m glad I took that risk because it helped me build my confidence even more.
What should our readers know about your business?
l am a 20-year-old entrepreneur with a passion for hairstyling. Alongside my work as a hairstylist, l am also a college student and balance two jobs. This unique combination has shaped my perspective and commitment to my goals. One thing that I’m mostly proud about is how I never gave up.. even though I had thoughts about it but hair is really my passion if I could do hair for free I would. My dad always taught me to always make your own money don’t depend on other people and never give up on something you love doing. It wasn’t easy at all i definitely have my ups in downs till this day and honestly that’s normal I feel like if I had more support it would’ve been way more easier for me but the fact that I built my own clientele by myself is amazing to me and that’s why I will continue to keep going. I definitely learned that you can’t trust everybody, and you definitely can’t depend on them. I love creating beautiful hairstyles that enhance my clients’ confidence. Each client is unique, and l enjoy bringing their vision to lite. Being a college student means I am constantly learning. I apply my academic knowledge to my hairstyling work, ensuring I stay informed about the latest trends and techniques. As an entrepreneur, I aim to build a brand that stands for creativity, quality, and community. I want to inspire others to pursue their passions, regardless of their circumstances. Juggling college and two jobs has taught me valuable lessons in time management and resilience. It hasn’t always been easy, but these experiences fuel my drive to succeed. want to give back to my community by supporting local initiatives and collaborating with other
entrepreneurs to uplift those around me.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Spend some time at Shelby Farms Park, where you can hike, bike, or paddleboard. Pack a picnic or enjoy lunch at The Kitchen in the park or The Majestic Grille, an elegant eatery located in a historic theater..
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shout out to my parents and my family. They are the reason I still want to keep going and continue to have a successful business!
