We had the good fortune of connecting with Riley Trinity and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Riley, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
By the end of my career, I want to have explored every facet of fashion because there are no limits in this industry. Aspiring to be a model, I envision working on meaningful campaigns and strutting down runways that leave a lasting impression. I aim to carve out a unique role within the corporate fashion world, driving innovative marketing campaigns, ads, and event coordination. Building a personal brand as a fashion content creator is also essential, sharing styling tips and thrift finds that resonate with my audience. As a sports fanatic, it’s always been my dream to style men in basketball and football, particularly for their tunnel looks, where they make a statement before the game even begins. Transitioning into the role of interviewer at major fashion events excites me, as I want to capture and share the industry’s most significant moments. Ultimately, I hope to be well-versed in all areas of fashion that inspire me while fostering a close-knit community of individuals I can support and empower. My dream is to open a thrift store in Atlanta, combining my passion for fashion and sustainability to make a positive impact in my community.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m excited to share my journey and what distinguishes my work in the creative realm. I truly believe that God has a purpose for my strengths, and I’m eager to see how they will help others through my passions. As I embark on the early stages of my career, I find myself navigating the challenges of being a full-time college student on the path to earning my bachelor’s degree in marketing, while also serving in e-board positions at my university, working part-time, and creating content for various brands.

This balancing act hasn’t been without its hurdles, but every challenge has provided me with invaluable lessons in resilience and determination. I’ve come to understand that we are capable of achieving incredible things when we refuse to think small. I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with dream brands like Target and Levi’s, which has been a testament to that belief.

Looking to the future, I’m filled with anticipation for the opportunities that lie ahead. Once I graduate, I’ll finally have more time to immerse myself in my passions and unleash my creativity. Ultimately, I want the world to recognize me as an authentic and compassionate individual dedicated to pursuing my passions while empowering others along the way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d take them on an unforgettable journey through Atlanta! We’d stroll through Piedmont Park along the Beltline, soaking in the vibrant artwork and live performances. Thrifting would be on the agenda at my favorite spots like Goodwill, Park Avenue Thrift, The Salvation Army, and 2nd Street. We’d enjoy a hearty breakfast at Gutbusters and a hibachi dinner at Taki Japanese Steakhouse. I’d introduce them to family-owned businesses that highlight Black excellence in the city, and we’d catch an Atlanta Braves or Atlanta United game, or check out any concerts happening that week. We’d wrap up our time with a casual meal at JJ Fish and Chicken. Overall, the focus would be on experiencing Atlanta’s lively culture, exploring the arts, and supporting local businesses, ensuring a week filled with unforgettable moments!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my late grandmother, who is the cornerstone of my love for fashion and my source of inspiration. As the owner of Diva’s Hair Salon in Hartford, CT, she not only exemplified style—always looking her best with amazing staple pieces—but also fostered a close-knit community where everyone felt welcomed. In fact, she had an entire floor in her house dedicated to her collection, filled with vintage pieces that told stories of their own. Her legacy has inspired me to cultivate a community, no matter its size, and to be the good-spirited person who touches lives, even in simple ways. I plan to open my thrift store in her honor, channeling her boss mentality and love for fashion into a space that celebrates both style and sustainability. I owe so much of my journey to her influence and the beautiful legacy she left behind.
