Meet Tabitha Farley | Master Cosmetologist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tabitha Farley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tabitha, what is the most important factor behind your success?
One word. GOD! GOD has been with me each and every step of the way. He made sure to place all the right people in my path to help me thrive. Still to this day he has continually shown me that he’s in control.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My lifestyle created the idea for my business! I recall when I was in college in South Carolina. I would travel home to Talbotton, Georgia to do hair and see family. One day I was at my aunt house doing hair and my cousin said to me what are you doing when you leave here. I stated I had to travel to Duluth, Ga to do hair because I would do hair at my grandmother house as well. He said to me and I quote “ you stay on go cuz”. It didn’t quite dawn on me at the moment but later that day. A client said to me my hair is on fleek at the time the phrase was popular and I was tired of hearing it. So I said no you’re OnGO! Hint the reason why my business name is OnGOMovement, LLC because over time all my customers started to join in on the movement. So again my lifestyle of being on the go created my business idea. I grew up in the environment of hair from my mother Feleciette Mccrory (Hairstylist) to my uncle Roderick Mccrory (Barber). I didn’t know then that it would be my career but I knew I loved watching them work. Was it easy? Of course not but giving up on what I love wasn’t an option either. Challenges are different for most people but we all face them. I know I keep giving GOD the credit but that’s because he deserves it! He help keep my mental and gave me clarity on things I was facing.
One of the most important lessons my career has taught me is that being a hairstylist is demanding and that you have to set boundaries! By creating boundaries you create balance and peace for yourself. I want the world to know that I absolutely love having genuine conversations with my clients, I love being able to set the tone in my salon suite for an environment of peace, openness and a space to relax plus feel beautiful.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For me lately I’ve been enjoying the battery. It has so much to offer as far as fun, food and vibes. I absolutely love going to the silver spot for food and a movie. I would also recommend Serenbe Trailriding experience for those who love nature and horses. Now for some relaxation oh I absolutely enjoy going to Waldrof Astoria Spa. It’s top tier to me!

I would like to give GOD his glory for all he has done and continue to do. He placed all the right people in my life and they all know exactly who they are. Thank you so much for your help in my journey.
