We had the good fortune of connecting with Terri Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Terri, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting a business for me was deeply personal and driven by a profound experience. After losing my younger brother, I reflected on life’s uncertainties and the importance of pursuing meaningful goals while I am here. I was inspired to create something enduring, something that could make a positive impact and allow more time for my loved ones. Identifying something I deeply cared about and enjoyed became my mission. With the urging and continued help of my family, I channeled my grief into developing Sweet T’s Confections.

What should our readers know about your business?
I come from a corporate background, but I always knew that entrepreneurship was my end goal. I always felt that I had a creative spirit but I just didn’t know how to channel it. At a pivotal point in my life, by the grace of God I was shown what I should pursue. It was initially difficult to break the mindset that I had formed from working 9-5 for so long, but this process has been so rewarding and worth it. Though my business is still so new, I’ve learned so much. I’ve learned the importance of believing in myself and persevering regardless of the present circumstances. I want to be an inspiration to young women that you can press on and make something better out of a terrible situation.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love a laid back brunch vibe. Atlanta Breakfast Club is one of my favorites. Toast on Lenox is also a favorite of mine. I would recommend visiting various museums in the city and going on a nice picnic. Those are things that I love. Nice and simple and spending quality time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my younger brother Stacey. He is my guardian angel and the sole driving force behind every endeavor for me. Also my mother, father, sister, nephew and my grandmother who lift me up daily with their love and support.
