We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Monique and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren Monique, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision I’ve made so far actually happened recently when I decided not to move back to Chicago.

I’m so used to running back to the comfort of home, but I knew if I wanted to become the best version of me, I needed to succeed in a new place.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As someone that has started from the very beginning when it comes to social media, there are definitely challenges.

I primarily talk about mental health struggles, dating struggles, and women’s health issues so I know there’s an audience for that. Instead of coming off like every other influencer, I want my followers/subscribers to feel like we are actually friends.

The biggest thing I’ve learned as I’ve been embarking on this content creation journey is that consistency is key.

I know that with consistency and hard work, I will make a name for myself. Some people’s journeys take a little bit longer, but the results will be so worth it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ooh I’m still kinda new here myself, but I definitely have a list of rooftops I want to visit this summer.

Lunch at Gypsy Kitchen for sure. It was the first place I went to when I moved to Georgia and it was cute.

Cocktails (Mocktails for me) at Spaceman

Dinner at 5 Church

Sunday would definitely be a good Beltline walk day then grab lunch somewhere along Krog Street.

Again, I’m still new here, so my friend and I would definitely be exploring together.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My dearest friend Jojo. He was someone who brought out a light in me that I didn’t know was there.

When I first had the idea that I wanted to start some sort of social media years ago, he was the first person that encouraged me and would even help me with content ideas.

I will forever be grateful for the short time we spent together.
