We had the good fortune of connecting with FlyGod Loco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi FlyGod, how do you think about risk?
Risk have been a big part of my success. I remember when rapping or wasn’t cool, I remember back in school everyone wanted to play football or basketball while I was skipping practice to go to the studio. Since dedicating my self to my career I had to sacrifice spending time with my kids to make a way for them which is a big risk because as a man I don’t want anybody there to teach my kids nothing but me and I don’t want them to have to go through what I went through growing up in the Fair Grounds of Rockford or in Chicago. So many long nights in the studio. So many days and weeks away. And most of all taking a risk on investing in yourself. Without investing in yourself its nothing can get accomplished. So I feel the most major risk is the risk of investing in yourself.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Grew up in Chicago Illinois in the northside neighborhood of Rogers Park. Music is a passion of mine. I listen to all genres of music. I have a deep interest and love for song writing. I write everything and have been blessed to have worked with a number of Artist and Influencers. Growing up in the 90s my favorite artists were pac biggie rkelly
The 2000s it was Weezy jay z Young Jeezy Chris Brown. As a student at the Art Institute of Illinois – Chicago Majoring in Audio Communication and Engineering With and Emphasis in Music Business I made an excellent mistake in order to fill my schedule I had to pick 2 selective Courses and I chose Human Anatomy and “Theory of Music” I studied trends style and impressions impact. I also learned what it took to make create remake and cultivate a hit song. Till this day Depending on the Instruments in the beat dictates my approach. I like to call it my therapy session. Music to me is created in the moment while you pour your heart into your craft. So that when you hear it it takes you back to a place whether good bad or happy sad it can give you motivation and it can help you grieve. That is what fuels my fire and push me to be the greatest Recording Artist and Song Writer in my Generation. My particular genre of music Is Trap Soul. My music is very bipolar one song I love you the next song you ain’t shit the next song I ain’t never been shit n you knew it vulgarly communicated in some songs
But ultimately I want my music to be recognized as heartfelt and when they hear my pain my love my soul my life experiences it’s gives them motivation it’s turns them up or/and helps my fans and supporters get through any situation they have in their lives and heart and that Midwest Nardo/BigTrap/RudeboyNahdo Understands. Each one is a different persona each one has a different story to its origin. WAS IT EASY…….HELL NO I remember when nobody would record or mix my songs. I’m the quite guy in the back with headphones in the studio smoking my own weed cool with everybody but I used to be real self conscious about my music so I would never show so I remember it like it was yesterday it’s me the engineer and a couple of the guys and I finally grew the courage to say let me record this song I had after months of watching them record im like yeah how hard can the be. The engineer was like bro you can’t afford to replace it if it breaks and I ain’t gon hold you I didn’t have a dollar to my name at the time I’m 16-17 fresh out of jail after getting locked up and kicked outta highschool for Inciting a riot.(This was before college) As they laughed jokes passed the weed and shit I said to my self mothafucka what you do don’t look that hard either so the next day I signed up for college, the day after that I had met by Big Brother And Mentor Ricky Robinson CEO of Blue Cheez Gang Media and Production Co. who saw something in me nobody else did. And brought me to another mentor of mine who is more of a father than anything named Darnell”Joey” Buckner at the time he Had a Record Label With distribution through Warner Bros Music Group and due to my hard work and dedication I signed an artist development contract and was presented my own personal key to work 24-7 so I used my night time insomnia to learn EVERYTHING ABOUT WHAT MAKES US SOUND HOW WE WANT TO SOUND. One of the best things I did was learned to engineer myself And I brought me soooo much money and built all my relationships and gave me a window to pitch my ideas then in 2013 I was shot in the leg arm and ear and had to take a break from the stresses of how fast I was going back then. Took a hiatus and creative time to get my life back right and mind together. By then I’m 20 going in 21 had a child on the way a BM with 2 Kids who were 1 and 3 beautiful little girls no father in their life. As a man and provider I had to to buckle down and become and role model and make an impression on the woman I chose to make it official with once finding out 4 months into our relationship she was pregnant with my First Born and it was a Son. Don’t get it twisted I never stopped writing and I never let anyone forget about me and by the grace of the universe my efforts were noticed and my personality made an unforgettable impression on The people I came in contact with. My Brother Mentor and OfficialDj DJ Mustafa Rocks who is Tink Tour DJ and Lil Durk City DJ when he comes home. He Is unbelievable the extent he goes for me to win and be apart of greatness I’m forever indebted. Now I work closely with The First Lady of 6ravoMusic Jamesia Trice on her album and she my Vocal Coach. I did a track wit bravo named she know and they believe in me and I trust the process so I Signed a Publishing Deal with 6ravoMusic as a Recording Artist and Song Writer. I’ve worked with Young Bleu Summer Walker meek mill Grammy award winning engineer Vet Boi. Being around greatness has given me a different perspective on the way I approach music and appreciate the road to get there. My ride was unconventional it’s who I know that got me here it’s what I know and my talent’s strength and versatility that made them believe in me. Before they know I even wanted to be a writer they loved me as a person and i feel it gave them more an appreciation when it came to working with me or my approach. Currently working on a project that should be done by July 1st looking to have it drop by September. With 2 songs That are being called Breakthrough Hits. Hopefully my story will motivate and inspire you that anything is possible and never give up it’s just not your time yet.
I also started a communications and media company Called – Zero Gravity Innovations – We Are contracted by clients and sponsors to conduct produce and supervise pre-production Through post-production with an emphasis in hospitality, professional etiquette and courtesy for live events, live entertainment, seminars, conventions and schools program production
I plan to open a show room with mock ups of potential buildups and packages offered. I plan to buy equipment and negotiate a deal with a few Venues to have on hand production space and major advertising locations to cut expenses down and drive awareness and revenue also with the increase in awareness means the increase in job creation in my community and in my community 67% are young adult from 18-35 and I would like to give a lot more of them the opportunity to build relationships build College credits have mentorship and learn career building and life changing skills and habits as better alternative to what our community happens to deliver or have available for our future.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First stop we gotta the weed man then depending on the time we either going to a hibachi grill or Gibsons Steak House. Then im feel his vibe. If he on some laid back shit day 2 we might hooks bar it for a min then invite a couple ppl to the studio. Or he could be in mode nah we on couches and tables bottles and sparklers screaming fuck these bitches. It can’t electrifying but it can get toxic vulgar and Un conventional very fast when I put my car in superstar mode. Or if he going through something I’m put him In front of something that gon make him stay and never return.
