We had the good fortune of connecting with Dustin Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dustin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Oh, absolutely! You know, being an actor, singer, and dancer for so many years, I was pretty much running my own show in a way—you become the product that you’re marketing. I’ve always had a knack for real estate but never really found the right moment to dive in. Then, about ten years ago, I shifted my focus more towards camera work rather than just stage performances, which gave me a bit more free time. The pandemic actually gave me the final nudge to fully explore real estate. I took that time to really learn about the industry, got my license, and joined EXP Realty.

I’ve always been drawn to leading and managing, much like when I ran my own theatre company. And Matt, my husband, jumped in too—getting his license to help out, especially when I was tied up with acting gigs. We’ve always dreamt of running our own business, and that led us to start up Chipper Dog Productions as well. Matt’s incredibly skilled at managing things and really shines with contracts and the operational side.

Once I launched our business and started working with clients, things picked up really quickly. Matt was ready for a change from his current job, so he joined me full-time, and that’s when Create Realty Partners really took off. We always knew we wanted to run our own business, and real estate just clicked for us, blending our skills and passions perfectly and now I am part of the Georgia Agent Advisory Council and Matt has just been promoted to Managing Broker overseeing Contract Compliance for the state! I am very proud of him!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Sure thing! We run Create Realty Partners, which is under EXP Realty. Our business name, “Create,” really captures our approach—it’s all about starting fresh, being innovative, and bringing our creative flair to real estate.

From my journey in acting, I’ve learned how to craft and share compelling human stories, which is a huge asset in real estate. Meanwhile, Matt brings his broad experience in management, adds a whole other layer of creative problem-solving to the mix. Together, we focus on innovating how we communicate, market, and handle our business, always with a foundation of empathy, honesty, and integrity.

We quickly realized that real estate isn’t just about buying and selling; it’s about creating homes, nurturing communities, and forging lasting relationships. When we started during the pandemic, we knew we had to be flexible. Our first year was surprisingly good, and it only grew from there. By the third year, it dawned on me that I needed to shift from being just a real estate agent to being a CEO of our company. We began seeking out experts who could push our business forward, embraced new systems, and got coaching from top pros nationwide. It’s made a world of difference, expanding our reach and giving us more time to enjoy life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We love going out and eating—a lot! First stop would definitely be Amore Amore for dinner, then perhaps a show at the FOX Theatre since we just adore it there. If the weather’s nice, we’d definitely host a dinner by the creek in our backyard. I love cooking, so a good meal and some fine wine are a must. We’d likely have a game night right on the patio too. Then, there’s wine tasting at Muss & Turner on Tuesdays, and winding down the night at Eleanor’s, which is a speakeasy part of Muss & Turner. We’d also hit up Marietta Square for some tapas at Silla del Toro and oysters at Mac’s Raw Bar. Our area’s full of great festivals, like the Dogwood Festival, and spots like the Atlanta Botanical Garden and the view from the top of Clairmont Hotel are just stunning.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d really like to shout out EXP Realty, our brokerage. Our coach Julie Nelson and the whole team at AgentHub 360. They’ve supported our growth immensely! This interview is in my voice, but truly, it’s a big shoutout to Matt—my partner in both life and business. He’s been my rock, and he’s just as passionate about this journey as I am. We couldn’t do it without each other!
