We had the good fortune of connecting with Macy Waters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Macy, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I want to share what inspires me. Makeup isn’t just about enhancing features. it’s about embracing the inner beauty and confidence through color and self-expression. For me, makeup is more than just a routine. It’s art; a form of expression that allows me to show my creativity and personality.

Watching makeup artists on YouTube has been a huge source of inspiration for me. Their creativity, passion, and dedication to their craft have motivated me to pursue my own journey as a makeup artist. Makeup isn’t just about applying products; it’s about transforming faces and boosting confidence. Thanks to these artists, I’ve learned that makeup is not only a skill but also a powerful form of self-expression and artistry.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m more than just a bridal makeup artist; I’m a creator of imaginative cosplay and holiday looks, reveling in the exploration of bold and vibrant colors. My journey hasn’t been easy; there have been plenty of ups and downs. However, during those challenging moments, I find solace at my vanity, reminding myself why I embarked on this path in the first place. It takes courage and passion to keep pushing forward, but the joy of expressing myself through makeup fuels my determination to never give up on my dream.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
After a long week I love to go eat at lazy dog they have delicious meatloaf dish.
And balloon museum is a fun experience.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my mentor, Charles Gregory, a true beauty icon in Atlanta. As a celebrity hair stylist and makeup artist renowned for his work in Tyler Perry movies, he inspired me immensely. Despite his passing due to Covid in 2020, his mentorship continues to shape my journey. Additionally, I’m deeply thankful for the ongoing encouragement and support from my Paul Mitchell educators, Danielle Atkinson and Jan Allen. Their guidance fuels my determination to pursue my dreams every day.
