We had the good fortune of connecting with Saadia White and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Saadia, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from the streets of Brooklyn, NY, my journey bears the scars of a turbulent past. Yet, from the shadows of adversity emerged a beacon of resilience. My troubled and traumatic childhood forged the foundation upon which I had to recreate my identity as a storyteller, a leader, and a voice for the community. Each challenge served as fuel for my transformation, and today I stand not as a victim of my past but as a victor and a testament to the power of perseverance.
What should our readers know about your business?
My journey from law enforcement officer to serial entrepreneur has been a testament to the power of resilience and faith. Through the twists and turns of life, I’ve emerged not as a victim of circumstance, but as a champion of purpose and possibility. Founding “Eyes Wide Open Empowering People Globally LLC” and “Amazine Amazon Inc. 501c3” wasn’t just about business; it was about answering a call to serve, to uplift, and to empower. In the for-profit realm, I’ve created opportunities for those in the reentry phase of their lives, offering not just jobs but hope for a brighter future.
Yet, it’s in the nonprofit sector where my heart truly sings. As the Executive Director, I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of our programs on the lives of youth, victims, and survivors. They aren’t just beneficiaries; they’re the architects of our collective future, and it’s our duty to ensure their voices are not just heard but celebrated.
But my journey wasn’t without its trials. Health issues and prescription drug dependency clouded my path for a time, but through the love of my family and the grace of God, I found the strength to break free from the chains of addiction and reclaim my life.
Returning to school to pursue a degree in business was a pivotal moment—one where God’s vision for my future became clear. With newfound clarity and determination, I embarked on the journey of entrepreneurship, navigating the treacherous waters of the business world with courage and conviction. I want the world to see the essence of who I am through my brands. They are not just businesses; they are a testament to my rebirth, my transformation from the depths of darkness into a radiant lotus blossom. My journey has been one of resilience, rising above the murky, muddy waters that once threatened to engulf me.
But my story isn’t just about my own triumph; it’s about reaching out to those who still find themselves submerged in those same murky waters. My brands are a beacon of hope for them, a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is light waiting to be discovered.
To anyone who feels lost or trapped in their own struggles, I want you to know that you are not alone. Just as I emerged from the depths, so too can you rise above the challenges that weigh you down. Let my journey serve as inspiration—a testament to the power of resilience, perseverance, and the unwavering belief in the beauty that lies within each of us.
Together, let us embrace our rebirth, our transformation, and emerge from the murky waters as beautiful, radiant lotus blossoms, ready to share our light with the world.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh wow, there is so much to do as I currently reside in Virginia and it is full of history. I am very family orientated and so are most of my friends we would definitely have to go to Shenandoah National Park, Im older and need the peace that nature offers, I would include Natural Bridge state park and the Virginia Safari Park, as for eateries definitely Yendidi Restaurant in Virginia Beach, and in the Hampton Roads area Mango mango and Cibus chophouse. The Virginia Air and Space Museum downtown hampton and for those who love to shop and find some unique pieces “Olivia Beale’s Boutique’ is a must you will definitely find affordable vintage pieces.
