Meet Cherelle Armistead | Interior Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cherelle Armistead and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cherelle, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to turn my passion into a career, not just a hobby. Starting my own business allows me to set goals, create my schedule, and leave a lasting legacy for my family.

What should our readers know about your business?
I run two businesses: Luxe Life Interiors, my interior design firm, and CMA Property Rentals, my rental business. I’m proud of both and look forward to expanding by hiring more designers and adding properties to my portfolio. Through prayer, hard work, and determination, I’ve overcome challenges and learned that flexibility is key in business. As a business owner, I’ve discovered the importance of dedication, long hours, and exceptional customer service for success.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
During a week-long stay at my Airbnb near Richmond downtown, I’d treat my guests to a culinary journey, including visits to Autum for tacos and tequila, Burtons Grill, and Perry’s Steakhouse. We’d also experience an intimate movie setting at Common House, followed by a wine tasting at Jardin. To unwind, we’d enjoy music and heartfelt conversations on the deck.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My grandmother has been a huge influence in my life, like an angel on earth. I strive to be the backbone of my family, just as she has been for me. Having my own business just as she did during her lifetime means so much to me.
