Meet Tywan Johnson | Audio visual & recording engineer / Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tywan Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tywan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
During the pandemic I was editing audio for a podcast and thought if podcast audio needs engineering thsn there’s probably biggest opportunities in my field of work💯🫶🏽‼️

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I own my professional career pathway to Community College of Philadelphia. While in school learning about music production & sound recording I learned that I enjoy teaching piano, alongside film scoring, sound design, audio visual technical work, and music production. I learned a wealth of knowledge from school that made me the church musician, studio engineer, audio visual technician that I am today. My brand is built on taking a artist’s vision or career scope and giving them practical steps to become a household name💯🫶🏽‼️
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The one thing that I love about Philadelphia is that there is ALWAYS something to do. There’s a open mic night every night of the week from Time, hook & reel, the world live cafe, and many more. These open mics all have different kinds of vibes. Some have live musicians and some just have a DJ but the vibes are always dope and the drinks are always A1💯🫶🏽‼️
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mother deserves a lot of credit for my journey; God rest her soul 🙏🏽 She always beloved in me and loved my journey & growth in church as a musician. I’ve also made a great group of musical mentors from Philadelphia that has gave me words of wisdom in passing between gigs🙌🏽‼️
