We had the good fortune of connecting with DeAndra Virgil Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DeAndra, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
How to know whether to keep going or give up to me is an inner core decision. First, in any goal being driven, having persistance and grit will keep you focused on completing your goals. I also believe that when something is meant to be it’s an ease and flow that occurs and sometimes its even unexplainable. I think when either of those are off, being driven or Devine intervention. It is when you can have a moment to determine is giving up an option or do I just need to step it up on my end cause God is right by my side to handle the things I cannot control. Stay grounded and rooted in your core beliefs and remember why you started in the first place.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Professionally, I’m in a really good place but I also believe it’s always room to grow. I see so much for myself on such a large scale that I’m only scratching the surface of who DeAndra “Tunnel Vision Dreamz” will become. I’m an actor and acting for me makes my soul happy!!! I can see myself on set acting for the the rest of my life no matter what “stage” of life I might be in. I’ve done work in theater and film. I’m currently filming a movie titled “Thanksgiving Prep” & I play the character name June. June is such a fun character to play defiantly my favorite so far in my acting journey. To see more of my credits and films check out my IMBD DeAndra Scott! Another proud moment this year was becoming a published author! Wow, a real dream come true & the book is titled ‘The Wife Union” available to purchase an Amazon & at thewifeunion.com. I’m also in the process of starting my healthcare business Direct Axxcess Testing so defiantly look out for me launching in fall of 24’. I’m also starting volunteering for meals on wheels cause I love to be of service. Life comes with challenges but I always try to rise above. I’m a glass half full type of women & I have faith. I can’t wait to keep building my legacy and becoming apart black history.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta is such an exciting place to live in. I’ve been in the city for a couple years now & I have a few places I really love so far. I’ve been a pescatarian for 14yrs and I all of the delicious spots in the city but I can for the vegan/pescatarian lovers. First, is Bar Vegan & Slutty Vegan so delicious no matter the occasion. Second, is Mamak Vegan Kitchen is asian inspired goodness. Third, is The Municipal Market is full of different foods, spices and fresh food & a great place to shop and grab lunch. Also, Grits & Eggs, Juicy Crab, Caribbean Chicken & Fish, The Oceanaire & Peach Cobbler are more place I love to eat in the city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my girls Monica, Jillian & Kaylee. My girls keep me grounded and rooted in my goals and achieving success. Making them proud and leaving a successful legacy for them is top goal for me.
