Meet Ron Way | Comedian &actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ron Way and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ron, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from a very small town in south Ga, called Moultrie. My upbringing I think has everything to do with who I am today. My mom showed me what living check to check looks like, so with seen that I never wanted to live that way. I would save and hide money all the time because I seen so many rainy days growing up. My dad taught me how to be an entrepreneur, not even knowing he was running his own business. My dad would always have money in his pocket and a car to work on. He would get off his 9 to 5 and head to his shop, and get right to work like he was coming off a lunch break. My upbringing showed me what I wanted and didn’t want to deal with in life.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a funny guy I’d like to think, or at least that’s what I’ve been hearing my whole life. Doing standup was naturally going to be somewhere in my future. I knew after the many nights as a kid waiting on my mom to go to sleep, just so I can watch BET’s Comic View. I remember in elementary school we had the chance to write down what we wanted to be when we grow up. Well I always wanted to be an actor. I just had a love for art and creativity. I honestly can say God and faith got me to where I am today. It was not a walk in the park, a lot of prayer. I think the hardest part of this was trusting God for what you prayed for. When God starts to work on the things you asked for , it never comes the way you think it should. God has humble me in this season of my life, I’ve even been homeless but I never stop dreaming and trusting that God was and is still working things out in my favor.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love basketball and football but i think a basketball game is more exciting. The people, the food and every time out there interacting with audiences, so you’re going to be engaged. There’s also a spot called the Hive, nothing but good vibes and just a great atmosphere. There’s a few cigar lounges that we’d visit, Rocky Patel is definitely one spot we have to stop by. Waffle House is a must have for breakfast, and I’m talking 3 times out the week.lol.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Well all credit goes to the man upstairs. I have to give thanks to God for everything, and My wife, Charmeka Love, she’s always pushing me, never allowing my fears to defeat me. She been my rock for 21 years till this day. A wife and a mother to my 2 kings Charkuntae and ZaCamron.
