We had the good fortune of connecting with JayyBuggin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi JayyBuggin, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I would say consistency is the most important factor behind my success. The reps from repeatedly making beats and songs have helped me become more than just a beatmaker but also a songwriter, engineer, and artist. It’s also important to stay consistent in order to build a fanbase and create the necessary work ethic that is needed for an artist in the music industry.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I like to think of myself as versatile I do a lot of Trap, Super trap, and alternative music but trap is my forefront. I freestyle just about all of my lyrics just because I feel it’s more of a way of letting the music creation process happen naturally which in my case most of the time whatever I’m feeling emotionally will probably be influenced in my music. Learning music is not easy but it’s not supposed to be. Learning the music industry is not easy either but the quicker you do the quicker I feel like you’ll find your way to success in the industry. The biggest challenge I’ve had on my journey is keeping my mental clear of all self-doubt and continuing to believe in myself. It gets rough when it feels like you’re making no progress and your lost on what the next steps are but like I said previously if you stay consistent it’ll become more of a habit, and I’ve also realized the better your mindset about music the better your experience will be. I’m just a foster child from Milwaukee, Wisconsin bearing gods gift and trying to fulfill my duties with them.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a pretty active guy and I like to hoop so I would probably play ball somewhere in the city preferably streetball its more of the environment I [played in growing up. My favorite place to eat is probably Big Boss Fried Chicken they have the best spicy chicken sandwiches. I don’t really drink anymore I kind of just grew out of it, but I will drink at an occasion. I love hanging out in the studio or at the beach sometimes as well. You can do just about anything in Chicago I feel it’s just better when u do them with the people you love the most.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be creating music if it wasn’t for God, so I always want to give thanks to the highest for leading me with my gift no matter my situation. As well as my one of my closest friends for helping me learn and supporting my journey along the way. Metro Boomin and future as well as producers like southside and 808 mafia are one of my biggest inspirations in music till this day so without their music I probably wouldn’t be making beats.
