Meet Imani Turner | Faith Driven Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Imani Turner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Imani, why did you pursue a creative career?
I grew up in a very creative family. There’s creativity running through my veins, and my dad is a self taught guitarist. He’s incredibly talented. I was always outgoing as a child. I felt the acting bug bite me when I performed as Aunt Polly in Tom Sawyer in middle school – I did something funny, the audience laughed, and I said, ‘I like this.’

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is that I am faith driven. Believing if I work hard all things are possible through Christ. Every day I wake up to do morning mindset meditation. Professionally it has helped me put my focus on things above and not beneath and to daily visualize myself in the already done place. To get through the dark times I quote Eph. 6. [12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Put Your All in to Everything You Do – “I work hard, I put everything into what I do. I want the world to know . Compromising on your belief and values, however, is detrimental. Your values keep you upright, they govern your behavior and keep you from going astray.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would love to visit The WORLD OF COCA-COLA We would could head over to The World of Coca-Cola, where the famous soft drink’s story is told through fascinating exhibits, classic ads and a replica of the bottling process. Be sure to Check out Downtown Atlanta.
Drive Downtown Atlanta for fun-filled day at Six Flags, as well as many other top attractions like Zoo Atlanta. I would love to enjoy time with friends to enjoy the neighborhood’s entertainment choices and selection of shops. Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Truist Park are a couple of popular sights I have heard are sure to leave an impression.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I didn’t know what the path would look like even after I got out of School For Creative and Performing Arts ,” and “wasn’t sure what might be reasonably possible,” I’m grateful for my older sister who suggested my parents enroll me in dance school at a young age. Performing Arts has always been apart of my life. I also want to shout out my friends and family who support me tremendously on social media. I thank them for their support and it keeps me motivated to keep being a creative.
