We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanisha Leggette and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tanisha, what do you attribute your success to?
I truly believe there is no one thing behind my success. My success is a recipe of faith, family, but most of all purpose.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Anointed Locs is my toddler. As it grows I am growing with it. Almost 4 years of business I have encountered a lot of clientele of which I am forever grateful for. I think the hardest lesson was realizing my business targets a certain clientele. Most clients are going through life changing transitions and desire to express it through their hair. In the process I don’t just become their loctician but also their life coach. I’m proud to say that I give my clients a confidential and environment as a life coach and a loctician. Also, I can grow some hair lol!
I have learned to not be offended when clients choose to change stylist. People choose what suits them and that’s completely okay and often have nothing to do with you. If they come back they are welcome with open arms. It’s business that’s it that’s all.
I am a loctician & life coach that listens to what you say and don’t say. As a loctician you know there’s a stigma around salons. But the reality is people are really going through things and just need a safe place. Some people need a good conversation, some need to just be heard, some need peace and quiet. I can do all depending on the needs of my client that’s also where life coaching comes in at.

On the life coaching end of things I work with people over a period of time to help them make powerful changes in their lives, whether It’s emotional, physical, or in their career, health or relationships.
I help my clients build a vision for their future and execute a plan into action to cultivate that vision.

All too often our day to day work and life responsibilities leave us stressed, unhealthy unfulfilled, and burnt out! Many of us are running ourselves ragged trying to keep up with it all, and as a result, we neglect ourselves and our most basic needs. We desire to change, but many of us aren’t sure how to change and improve our lives, or where to even begin the process. We all need a little help sometimes, especially when it comes to journeys of self discovery.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite places to eat are 306 North, Friends Grille & Bar, The Bistro & The Tavern. And if you’re a woman that desires to be empowered by kingdom driven women our Women Empowerment Sessions over seen by Dr. Yolanda Payne are nothing short of a phenomenal impact!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shout out goes to my mentor & life coach Dr. Yolanda Payne. She is the epitome of women empowerment. Her leadership, love, and support is nothing short of powerful and impactful mentorship.
