Meet Jordyn Simmons | Photographer/ Videographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordyn Simmons and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordyn, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success of my photography business is my individuality, creativity and passion. I make sure that I keep up with my individuality by not comparing my work to others. I stay humble and appreciate the things that I am able to do and use the ideas that i am able to come up with to push out content. I use my creativity by taking in what my client is asking for and have the ability to create things that my clients wouldn’t have even imagined. It’s all about keeping a smile on my client’s faces throughout the whole process. From when they step foot into my studio, to the time they walk out, and to the time they see the finished product! I look forward to “Capturing something simple, and turning it into something beautiful” everyday! Wise words from myself- The one and only Jigg

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is that I am very fast with my editing process and I have the ability to get everyone’s photos back to them on time. It’s very rare for you to have that skill as a photographer especially when you have a higher platform because it becomes very intense and challenging to do so when your platform is busy. I also had to be able to learn my style of photography and figure out what I do best, which turned out to be conceptual photography. I’m very good at putting together group shoots which I am also known for doing. I’m good at getting big groups together and creating fire projects which takes a lot of time and effort and most importantly, commitment and dedication. I do this by creating a concept, let people sign up on my google form, then choose my models that I want to participate and then figure the best places to shoot and get it done ! Due to me being known for a lot of conceptual photography, it was a gateway to attract creatives who work in that genre. I was able to work with Giovanna Ramos, Imani Jyne, The Wicker Twins, Aliyahcore, and etc ! It’s all about networking, creating good ideas and getting people to be drawn to your work!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Because ATL is one of the most known for great site seeing , I would bring my bestfriend to one of my favorite restaurants (Depends on what type of food we feel like that day), then I would take her to Little 5 points because there’s a lot of little things there such as thrifting, smoothies, crystal shops, shoe stores and different places to eat! it’s a lot of different people over there as well, you could run into a lot of cool people.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would definitely like to shoutout my mentor Drayton McJunkins! His instagram is @Dr8nn. He is one of the coolest people I know and he gave me all of the information that I needed to start photography and I really appreciate him for being there anytime and he is very kind and helpful to upcoming photographers so I do really appreciate him for that!
I also want to shoutout my 2 Bestfriends Paige and Ashley! They have been the biggest help for me this past year. They came to almost all of my photoshoots in the summer and helped me with my lighting, they have helped me with bts and getting content in over the summer and they have shown so much love virtually by reposting my work, tagging me,and sending me opportunities and inspiration so I thank them so much !
