We had the good fortune of connecting with Maria Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maria, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
This is a question that stuck to me for so long. I started young and then I just felt like I wasn’t going anywhere or wasn’t recognized. The older I got I realized theirs no age limit or limit to when and where you start your journey. After coming to realization for myself, I knew instantly I was doing it for myself and whatever comes my way during my journey is meant for me. That’s when I knew to never give up and keep striving.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Because I do more than just dancing and modeling, I like to call myself an entertainer. Not only do I model and dance, but I also host at events, and started like my own mini podcast. After getting over my shyness, I just loved the feeling of being able to express myself in different forms along with vibing with the crowd I’ve had. Even though I’m getting some recognition of what I do, I still make sure I do it for me and to never lose myself. It was never easy to get over my shyness I’ve had to use different methods to be able to overcome it. Now looking back I felt like I never had a reason to be shy of myself. A big lesson I’ve learned along the way is to always trust yourself and don’t shy yourself because you never know what you’re missing. I want the world to know its never easy reaching goals, it doesn’t happen overnight, days, weeks, or months sometimes it can be years; just keep pushing and you’ll get there when it’s meant for you to get there+
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a bestfriend coming to town to visit, I would suggest us visiting downtown, the park, or even walk along some blocks; because your guarantee to see some amazing art work. When you’re around other art it’s like motivation, rather it’s painting or dancing. We would definitely hit small or large business owner’s restaurants; it’s always good to have a large variety of tastes. If there’s an event going on with some artist, local or huge we would definitely be there
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shout-out to my uncle Nelson J. Davis aka, Mr Tubi. From watching him on his journey, it’s just a proven fact never to give up.
