We had the good fortune of connecting with Saundrea Sampson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Saundrea, is there something you believe many others might not
Entrepreneurship is tough already, so it’s always great to work to make life easier for yourself. I call it looking out for the future you. Contrary to most beliefs, I disagree with “just do it” approach to starting a business. It makes a world of a difference to have a plan, mentor, and/or resources to lean on when in need. The “just do it” approach may work for some, but a lot of times you run into more problems because of the lack of initial planning. I 100% stand by taking ALL the time you need to get your game plan together (even if that means a year or two years) — This also includes practicing with a soft launch before sharing your vision with the public. Trust me it makes a world of a difference, looking back to an pre-planned *EVERGREEN* project that can be easily adapted into any time of the year. The key is to create with evergreen in mind because plans ALWAYS change.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
While Embodied Apparel is my passion project and business, I am also a project manager and digital marketing guru. Two skills that makes planning and executing for Embodied Apparel a breeze. (Including having a year worth of content ideas that I have yet to touch.) Marketing and campaign strategy come very naturally to me. Once I complete a proposal or mood board, I’m instantly put at ease. After launching Embodied Apparel, I began using digital marketing in as many ways possible including but not limited to digital-touch business cards. This was important because I wanted to use a resource I know that many people weren’t familiar with it to help inspire my audience to be more innovative.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I always love to give a shout-out to each and every person who shops with Embodied Apparel. All of the love and support is truly appreciated. The brand would not be where it is without the support of my community and especially my returning customers. I would love to give a special shoutout to my family and close friends that have been there from the idea conception — thank you for always being in my corner and always letting me share my ideas with you. I am grateful for your unwavering love and support.
