Meet Vanessa Cox-Logan | Founder of Black Women’s Lab, Community Activist, Political Consultant and Small Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Vanessa Cox-Logan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vanessa, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Our aim is to empower and motivate Black Women to become catalysts for positive change in the world. We are dedicated to establishing a secure and nurturing space where Black Women can engage in a culturally immersive learning journey. Our objectives are to foster a caring, supportive, and culturally enriching environment that cultivates self-realization and promotes the unity of Black Women. Grant young Black Women access to accomplished individuals who are socially involved and politically aware, fostering honest and meaningful intergenerational dialogues and connections. Foster the development of sisterhood, camaraderie, and friendships among Black Women, embracing our cultural heritage, historical lineage, and traditions as women of African descent.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our business is driven by a strong passion for empowering individuals and creating positive change in the world. What sets us apart from others is our unwavering commitment to fostering a culturally enriching and supportive environment for Black Women.
What we are most proud of and excited about is the transformative impact we have on the lives of Black Women. By providing a safe space for learning and personal growth, we witness remarkable journeys of self-actualization and community building.
Getting to where we are today in the business realm was not without its challenges. We faced obstacles and hurdles along the way. However, we overcame these challenges through resilience, determination, and the unwavering support of our community. We learned that setbacks are opportunities for growth and that adaptability is key in navigating the ever-changing landscape.
The lessons we have learned throughout our journey are invaluable. We have learned the importance of authentic connections and mentorship, as exemplified by the guidance and inspiration of influential figures like Michael Langford. We have discovered the power of unity and the strength that lies within a brotherhood of like-minded individuals.
What we want the world to know about us is that we are here to make a lasting impact. We strive to empower and uplift Black Women, equipping them with the tools and knowledge they need to transform their lives and the communities around them. Our brand represents resilience, cultural pride, and a deep commitment to creating a better future.
Our story is one of collective strength and the celebration of the rich heritage of Black Women. We aim to inspire and motivate others to embrace their own stories, pursue their dreams, and become catalysts for positive change.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I was fortunate to have Michael Langford as my Godfather and mentor, an influential political organizer and community activist, who introduced me to the dynamic realm of grassroots organizing and the political stage. He was the catalyst for creating Black Women’s lab and encouraged me to spearhead a movement creating a safe space for women and girls of color to empower and inspire Black Women who will positively transform the world.
