We had the good fortune of connecting with Torriana Mcghee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Torriana, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
For me it was easy, I am a creative. I love all things about creating art, fashion, and coming up with new and different hairstyles. The brainstorming process before your creation comes to life, then executing it & seeing it come out exactly how you expected is amazing. So it was only right to get into the hair field. Hair is a creative outlet for me, doing those different style and crazy parts, and my clients getting out the chair loving their hair once I’m done is the most satisfying thing. TorriSlaayedMeLLC, is all about enhancing the clients natural beauty and that’s what I plan to do every time.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

What keeps me busy is coming up with new ways to get better and how I can expand my business. When you have a business and a passion for what you’re doing it isn’t always about “keeping busy”, it’s about evolving. My bestfriend Bryana and I always send each other different methods on how to do things or ways we can grow our brand and expand. I will forever be appreciative of that.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friends were traveling to Atlanta, I would take them downtown and go to a brunch place called “5 Church.” Then we can ride the scooters around downtown and find a cute icecream shop to go to for dessert. Then finishing the day by going to Piedmont Park and seeing the scenery. I love dressing up and going out to eat so that’s what i’d do with my friends first. Then the next day maybe we can check out some cool activities like pottery, sip & paint, atv riding, and zip lining.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give my flowers to my family. My parents *Chanda & Toris Mcghee*, my siblings *Shatorria, Markeith, Kai & Yanna*, my best friends *Bryana, Adriana, & Andrew.* These people all encouraged me to take that leap of faith to start my business and not be scared. Shoutout to my Uncle Lando and Aunt Keisha for the continuous support and words of encouragement. Thank you to my sisters, my best friends and my cousin Jai for always letting me try different hairstyles on you guys. I will always be appreciative.
