We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael & Debra West and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael & Debra, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting our own business is providing families with a family member to add love to their lives. The love we have for the Frenchie breed also plays a big part as well. Our Frenches are like our kids, they provide us with plenty of love and affection.
What should our readers know about your business?
French West Frenchies was started organically. We have always had entrepreneur mindset. Our business was started from our love for dogs and the Frenchie breed. We purchased our male stud Apollo first and then preceded with the purchase of our first female Frenchie Arabelle. With the addition of our new family members we wanted share the love we have for the Frenchie breed with other families as well. This is one of the main reasons we have added financing options for purchasing a French West Frenchie puppy. The cost is not cheap due to the high costs that goes into breeding French Bulldogs. Frenchies due to their stature do no conceive or give birth normally. There are expensive costs associated with breeding such as progesterone testing, c-section, health and genetic testing and other costly care items as well. We understand some families may desire a Frenchie to add to their family but the cost may be challenging financially. We believe by adding financing will help families add the there furever friend to their family.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Places to check out are: Centennial Park, Atlanta Belt Line, Ponce City Market, Piedmont Park, Marin Luther King Historic Site, Lake Lanier, Savannah, Georgia. Places to eat: Twisted Soul Cookhouse and Pours, South City Kitchen – Buckhead, & Cheese ATL, The Americano Restaurant, Sugar Factory
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We have a great support Team. There are several people who have played a part in our growth and knowledge as a breeder and building our business. Melissa Horton Green of Basket of Love Bulldogs, Robert Penn of Georgia Elite Frenchies. Kamika Sanchez business name Everyone Needs A Frenchie and Sandra Smith Schmieden of Le’Petite Frenchies. All of these people have been a good support system in different ways for us.
