Meet Evan Menifee | Drummer and MixingEngineer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Evan Menifee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Evan, what matters most to you?
“Live Life Intentionally” is a phrase that I tell myself often. At the end of the day, no matter what it is that I am doing, the action shouldn’t be in vain. There should be positive meaning behind your actions. That’s what gives life purpose, in my opinion. Seeking the meaning of life and being intentional with your words and thoughts and actions. And because we’re human, we don’t know the future but what we do know is that we have the ability to move forward with purpose and work towards something.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I was fortunate enough to be in spaces with other amazing musicians from a young age. While that was inspiring, it was also a bit deterring. I wondered if I’d live up to where they were so through the work and practice, I found myself giving up for long periods of time. I actually remember a period of a few years where I had seemingly completely stopped playing drums. And as I got older, the groups of amazing musicians were still there and I was nowhere near that level, and that trickled into college. I can say that I am just now getting to a point where I am confident with who I am and what I can do and offer.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is easy.. I’d have to take them by Atlantic Station, Perimeter Mall, TopGolf, and Ponce City Market. Grab some food at Nuevo Laredo, Bocado, Bon Ton, Steamhouse, Bangkok Station, and La Fonda.
And most definitely gotta get American Deli and krispy kreme.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents. I wouldn’t be who I am without their continued support for who
