Meet Megan Burke | Lead Singer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Burke and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Almost everyone has some connection to music. Everyone in our band has been connected through music, has had our spirits lifted by music, enjoy music when we’re happy or sad… It’s the one thing almost anyone can enjoy (even if everyone loves different genres). We’re trying to connect people together just like we’ve been. Help people see different points of view and tell stories. It’s something we all need, especially when times are tough.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
First, we are excited to release our newest singles. They incorporate various different influences from each member, new and old. It definitely wasn’t easy, there’s always a lot of trial and error in this industry. Although sometimes the failures along the way make it seem impossible, when we do hit those checkpoints and play those big shows it helps us keep going. Meeting people that connect to our music and love hearing what we have to say is the biggest thing. We’ve definitely learned that sometimes less is more. But most importantly, we want everyone to know is that we’re here to present a collection of perspectives to inspire people think outside of their box.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well we all LOVE tacos from El Don’s in Woodstock (either the food truck or the restaurant, because both are amazing.) so we would defintely take them there to eat. We would also have to take them to a show at The Masquerade in Atlanta. There are so many great mountain biking trails around Acworth and North Georgia, we could take them to any one of those. Then, especially this time of year, we’d have to have a bonfire with some acoustic guitar and s’mores to top it all off.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We’d love to thank Peter Catalano, owner of 59x Records. In the short amount of time that we’ve worked with him he’s helped us tremedously. From helping us figure out what it takes to grow as a business to helping us grow as artists. He’s become a great mentor and friend.
