We had the good fortune of connecting with Terence Mills and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Terence, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Over the years, there have been a lot of lessons but the most important lesson I’ve learned is to trust the process and remain dedicated to your vision. Obstacles are designed to test your dedication to whatever it is that your chasing and your willingness to push through the tough times are truly a testament to what’s inside of you. The process is different for many because its designed solely for you so you have to be able to look at the situations presented, seek advice and then trust and follow your gut on how you should move forward. I’m thankful for it all, the good and the bad because it developed character and rededicates my passion each time.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m one of a kind. The energy I bring to projects is like none other. My creative vision and execution accompanied with an amazing and comfortable vibe put me in a category all in its own. I really make you feel like the star you are. Im most proud of the fact that I never gave up throughout the years and worked my way to work with so many great individuals and even working with some of my favorite record labels such as inter scope records. I graduated from Full Sail University in 2016 but before that, I heavily freelanced in-between Savannah and Atlanta GA. I slowly worked my way up and built connections and still am on that path as I grow and learn more about this amazing craft and medium to express my creativity. It wasn’t easy to make it this far. There were a ton of hard and unsure days and nights but I kept sight on the goal and remained dedicated to the vision of creating and making a mark in my own way. I overcame the struggles and challenges with a lot of prayer and hard work. Sometimes working two and three jobs to support my family while budgeting to buy better equipment to make my job easier. Thats something Im still doing now even though there has been a small level up. I think that it will always be an element of that even once you reach the top or the place you call home in the industry. I’ve learned so many lessons but one of the best ones is to forgive and always be thankful. We’re human and make mistakes and nothing is concrete. Everything has to be earned and thanks given. I want the world to know that no matter where you come from or what you look like, that you have something to contribute to the world. Each person has a special gift that needs to be placed in the universe and that we’re all STARS!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I don’t really get out much but I would definitely take them to the aquarium dowtown atlanta and then we would eat at the local restaurants by sky view!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my Wife. She’s supported me in ways that I couldn’t image and has been that extra push to keep moving forward and become a better all-around person.
