We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristie Ford and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is definitely being consistent and available.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The name of my Business is Pursuing Growth Leadership Development.

I established my company about a year ago, because I saw and heard this consistent cry for help coming from individuals that wanted to start their own business, go back to school and/or change careers. But they lacked self-confidence, and they needed some life coaching.

I understood exactly what the were asking. I had to overcome similar mindsets especially after the pandemic. During the pandemic there were certain mental blockers which affected many people. It appeared they were not equipped on how to deal with those limitations.

I have a passion to help! For me, life coaching and leadership development is not about the money as much as it is about seeing someone overcoming self-doubt and uncertainty. That is what sets me apart.

I am a ordained minister with over thirty five years of training in leadership development. This journey has not been easy however, I have learned early how to face challenges and use 3 specific steps in career development: Ignore negativity, control your controllables and resolve conflicts in the best way possible. These techniques helped me go further than life had planned.

I want the world to know that your past experiences do not have to dictate your future possibilities. You have to remain expanded and do not allow anything to cause you to retract and shrink back into old behaviors. Bad behavior produces bad products good behavior rewards you in the end.

Pursuing Growth Leadership Development will help you uncover your hidden potential and help set you on a path that will propel you towards reaching your desired goal.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

We would start by having dinner the first night downtown riverfront at this amazing restaurant that’s famous for their crab cakes. They have a dynamic local jazz band that plays nightly. That same night we would leave that spot and do dessert at a roof top location downtown and end the night chatting it up on my front porch.

The next day (assuming it is summer) we are going to the beach. We would pack food and drinks and stay for about 4 hours. Then come back to the house and chill till dinner. I would cook spaghetti and meatballs with homemade garlic knots. We would later have some red wine and call it the night

Day three we are driving to Myrtle Beach, SC and go shopping at “Broadway at the Beach” after shopping we are going to eat at the famous Benjamin’s Seafood. Afterwards being full and exhausted we would drive back and knowing us we are going to bed.

This is the day we do nothing but catch up, drink wine and binge watch Lifetime TV and preplan for the spades game tomorrow.

Lastly, I will invite some friends over for dinner and cards. We would put some steak and corn on the cob on the grill and eat and play cards all night.

The remaining time we would just enjoy one another’s company until next time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout would have to go to my husband Duan Ford. He has been my cheerleader, leaning post, and shoulder I could cry on. He has truly been a stabilizing force while developing my business.
