Meet Quanishia Dixon | Baker & Social Worker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Quanishia Dixon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Quanishia, what principle do you value most?
I actually have three values that are most important to me. Courage: Without courage, I believe there’s truly no room for growth. I’ve learned that if you live in the thought of fear or rejection you’ll never grow as a person, or professionally. I’ve learned to have the courage to step outside of my comfort zone and think outside the box, and not limit myself to the possibilities of what I “can’t” do and just do it. Gratitude is another big one for me. I’ve learned the importance of incorporating gratitude into my everyday life because sometimes we get so fixated with the things that we do not have and do not show gratitude for the things we do have in this present moment. My last one is patience. I am learning to be patient and let things take their course. Patience allows you to gain power over yourself and learn what’s needed before making any decisions.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well, I am an upcoming Social Worker by day and a Baker by night. I am currently working on my master’s in Social Work all while building my brand as a baker. I am most excited about being able to be a part of the change within my community as well as being a baker and perfecting my craft. My journey as a baker was definitely not easy starting out. Learning how to take good photos, correct measurements of the ingredients, and learning how to market and brand. I overcame these challenges by practicing, being patient, and asking questions to others that are further along in their baking journey. I’ve learned to not be afraid to mess up, and not be afraid to ask for help. I want people to know that Hi Sa’Weetness is their new favorite brand for all their baking needs which takes pride in excellent customer service and providing a quality product. Contact Hi Sa’Weetness for your next sweet treat needs. Taste The Difference, Tempt Your Taste Buds.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take my best friend to Breakfast at Barney’s for brunch, we would walk the beltline, visit the battery and grab drinks from fat tuesday for some good drinks, the top of ponce city market for some good vibes and drinks, we gotta stop at krogstreet market or the municipal market for some good food, a walk through piedmont park is always relaxing. To see some interesting people and things most definitely take a stroll through little five points.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I believe that my family and friends deserve recognition for always been there to support me, giving me the honest truth, test tasting, and just showing up when I need them. Also my customers deserves some recognition because without them there would be no Hi Sa’Weetness, so Thank you to them.
