We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Stewart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk is such a fascinating concept because there is always a consequence of risk-taking, and there is always a lesson, no matter the outcome if you’re paying close enough attention.

Regarding my life and career, I liken risk to faith. Faith is risk-taking because you don’t necessarily know where the next step leads; you just know you have to take it. In my personal example, in early 2020, I was CEO of a fairly successful business. During a literal pandemic and also a tumultuous relationship, I took a risk and walked away from it all; everything.

In late 2020 I did two things that completely changed my life personally and professionally. I had no business or money, but I had new vision. I wrote a book called, No Saving Me for Later, that’s a testament to the value I hold that I didn’t see before. I also started a business called BirthWrite Consulting Group, a professional writing company which accelerated me into a different income bracket.

I can remember right before I decided to take the risk to do either of these things, I was considering settling for a position at a startup company, and I had a conversation with the CEO. During that conversation, she told me in so many words that although she knew I was well capable of the position, she also knew I was made for more, and it was that little spark that ignited the profound truth I knew about myself. I was going to succeed against all odds; I was and am the exception.

I remember praying to God and committing my business to Him; the rest is history and will be historical. I’m going on to do great things. It all started with risk. My success was the consequence of risk, and it all started with a step of faith. I can not imagine my life any other way. Risk-taking freed me from mediocrity, abuse, and manipulation. Faith-taking introduced me to my gift, my purpose, and the life I was created to live. What was the lesson in all of this? I will never settle for anything less ever again.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Somewhere along this journey, I learned to find strength in all I am. I am at peace, and there’s not one soul who could validate my existence, my value, and my royalty more than I. I learned there’s power in. peace. The same power I had given away foolishly thinking someone else was more equipped to weld it. I learned the power was mine.
Writing helped me realize there was power all around and power within me. Power running through my veins, power in my pain, power in every tear that fell onto my cheek, power in prayers, power in my thoughts, power in every word written on a page. Power in telling pieces of my story and the things I learned along the way, not for accolades or recognition, but to share in hopes that it would help someone else see their own power.
I realize how important my story is; my narrative and the one that is possible for my children and their children.

There’s power in words. I’m not sure if I ever understood it more than I do now, but my life changed when I walked into the knowledge of it. Completely.

I am poetry. My words tell a story, and my words heal. They affirm, and they build. They tell a narrative of value that speaks volumes. My brand is all about value. When I show up, value has arrived. I’m adding value and showing value. I’m value personified.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love beautiful things, so we are going to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens for the afternoon, then head for dinner at 5 Church in Midtown and end the night at some rooftop social event. I would also line up at least one full day of business networking because I think one of the best things about any city is the opportunity to do something meaningful. I’d ride through the suburbs, windows down, and have a conversation with my best friend, a heart-to-heart without the distractions of what’s around us. We’d go to the High Museum of Art and have lunch in Buckhead.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Pastor Rolita James wears a few hats in my life. I want to thank her as a mentor today. She was the person who helped me see the value I held and helped me understand what true love for self and others was. I believe some people help us get to the next level in life; she was that for me at such a pivotal time in my life. She didn’t let popular opinion sway her. She held me accountable and prayed me through. To her, I am very grateful.
