Meet HerShe The Entertainer | Entertainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with HerShe The Entertainer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi HerShe, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Staying true to myself. No amount of money nor fame can ever change my view points or alter my moral compasses.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been a performer for most of my life. I started professionally singing at 8yrs. I was apart of almost every ensemble in the city. I use to child model and act as well. Writing was always like a release for me. My form of therapy. I use to frequent open mics to perform poetry or a song that I wrote just to hear the crowds reaction. That’s how I would decide if the writing was trash or not. Performing comedy is quite similar. Comedy is my new baby. I started in 2009 and it’s been full stream ahead ever since.
My step father came to me one day and said “Hey you’re going to be a comedian too”. I was very reluctant however one day he enrolled me in a comedy course at a community college and i’ve been making folks laugh from there on out. I definitely have to give credit to him for seeing something else in me that has taken me so far. It definitely hasn’t been easy. Some nights I’ve thought about just walking away from it all out of frustration but its always my loyal supporters who keep me pushing forward.
The way I always get over obstacles and challenges I take it to Christ and then the stage. There’s nothing more freeing then that stage. Mic therapy is EVERYTHING to me.
I most proud about becoming international. I’ve had the pleasure of performing comedy in several countries and it’s been a blessing. I most excited about a few projects I have coming up. One is a sketch comedy show called “Happy Hour” which is set to premiere in a few months on a new streaming platform called iElevate+TV. I’m also super excited about this movie i wrote. It’s definitely a special project to me. I know it’s going to change my life.
I would like the world to know that I am resilient and authentic. I’m my best during performances when I’m living and walking in my truth. I believe in supporting one another wholeheartedly. When it comes to my brand know you’ll always get quality and professionalism. I’m a well rounded entertainer and I pride myself on being able to perform for whatever occcasion.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well although I no longer reside in Detroit I definitely would take them around my city. First stop would most certainly be the world’s famous “Coney Island” and no not the NY Coney Island. This one isn’t an amusement park it’s a restaurant. They’re open 24/7 and they serve everything from chicken pita wraps and chilli cheese fries, to pancakes and omelettes. It’s some of the best food in the city.
We’d hit the Motown museum. All of the Casinos definitely got to stop by Lou’s Deli for dinner. She’d love the bar crawl through downtown. So much to see on the river walk. Its a beautiful sight to see. Charles Wright museum always has amazing exhibits.
We’d have to hit the drag show to see some of the best drag entertainers in the city at Menjos. After all this excitement it’s time to eat again so next stop would be Motor City Soul Food.
We can’t leave the city without visiting Ford Road Patio Bar & Grill on a Tuesday or Thursday for comedy and great food hosted my one of the cities greatest Simply Shanell.
If anyone knows me they know my favorite pass time is karaoke. So we’d hit SoHo in Ferndale for some signature drinks and sanging.
They Say is legendary for live music and local talent all around the city. It’s a great date night spot. If you’re single and really looking to mingle FLOODS or NIKKI’s would be your best spots. Food at both places is absolutely amazing. If we don’t do nothing else in my city we EAT!!!
A hidden gem in the city for food and great drinks would be Sweet Soul Bistro. Yall can thank me later.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There’s so many people I to give credit to for believing in me and continuously supporting me. Definitely my parents. No matter what they’ve always pushed and prayed for me on my journey. When it comes to comedy some of my mentors like Howie Bell, Mic Larry, Simply Shanell, Detroit Red and Melvin Bender are to name a few who really mentored me. Of course I can’t forget my city Detroit and all of my supporters from all over the world.
