Hi Laurie, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
It comes from the Bible Philippians 4:13 which said, I can do “all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose”. this is from the amplified version.

The meaning: I was created with a purpose in life and have all that is needed for life inside of me. The strength and power that is within are enough to move ahead and become a woman that impacts people in the community.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The name of my company is uLALA-Forever24 LLC It’s a company that was born out of the unique creativity to use photography and design cards/wall arts and personalized gifts according to individual specifications and personality. I am excited about creating items that bring joy and smiles to the individual’s faces and having the feeling that each gift item is unique and original and would become a treasured gift for the individual.

I am 53 years old and 10 years ago, I made the decision to return to college to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Management. During that time, my son, who was diagnosed with Down Syndrome, Developmental-delay and speech delay, was 4 years old and I knew I needed more to have a better life and stop living from paycheck to paycheck. After obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I continued towards my master’s and am currently working on a doctoral degree in the area of organizational leadership. Throughout those years, I worked hard in my professional life. It was not easy to develop oneself, care for a child, and manage a business.

I overcome the challenges by being prayerful in all aspects of life. I had to learn not to take on too much at once and accept assistance from those who offered their service. Having a balance with all that I was facing was important and having the right circle of people who would motivate and encourage me was a key aspect in overcoming the challenges I faced. In addition, I am an Office Manager/Executive Assistant at a utility firm and an active leader in the Church.

There were many lessons learned along the way and I am still learning. One major lesson was to be determined and have a positive mindset towards your goals and aspirations. I want the world to know that it is never too late to get started in your career, family, and business ventures. Write down your vision and be determined to keep your eyes focused and avoid distractions.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are many exciting places to visit in Georgia. One of the places I would take a friend to is Stone Mountain park for a day full of fun. They would have the opportunity to take the sky lift to the top of the mountain and enjoy the view and later enjoy the laser show.

Centennial Olympic Park is another great place to enjoy for a few days. There is a lot to do in the city of Atlanta. Dinner will be served at the Sundial Restaurant overlooking downtown Atlanta from the 72nd floor. Excellent view while enjoying dinner and music.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this shout to my Pastors, Pastor Christopher Ibe, Apostle Joy Ibe, Apostle Noble Ibe, Pastor Gift Moore, and Divine Visitation International Ministries and Church families. They have played a major role individually and collectively in who I am today. The prayers, love, support, push, and encouragement to use what is in my hands to be the best and succeed in all endeavors.
