We had the good fortune of connecting with Malloree Lingerfelt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Malloree, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business was a very hard decision for me. I grew up in a very small town and it seemed like everyone that lived there was a photographer. I eventually got some confidence to start up an Instagram page and start taking pictures of my friends and posting them, eventually it lead me to the start of my business. Once more people started following me and asking me to take their pictures, I thought to myself “I can turn this into my own business. It was a slow start at first but, wouldn’t change anything about it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Every picture I take is a memory for someone else, and that is what I love about my job. It was very hard to get to where I am today, I started with a super cheap camera, and two of the most basic lenses that you could get, once I started getting comfortable with it, knowing how to use it, etc is when it became fun, I saved up for a “new camera” still not the best you could have learned how to use it. My work became better but not the best. I reached out to a lot of professionals to see if they would be willing to help me out. They gave me some good insight about the photography world. I thank those people today because I would not be where I am without them. I have learned the hard way of what NO means. No one likes to hear that or your work is not good enough. I blocked everyone out and it made me the person I am today.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I just moved to Covington, Ga, YES, home of The Vampire Diaries. I would 100% have to do a tour of the town
Eat- Mystic Grill
Drink- a signature cocktail
Hang out- down town

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would say my bestfriends helped me become successful just by letting me take some fun pictures with them.
