We had the good fortune of connecting with Raphael Bahindwa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Raphael, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind everything that I do, it all start with passion. I know you probably heard that before but, being passionate is the start for a successful career. if you do something, and you’re not passionate, it’s probably not gonna last for long. But if you are very passionate about what you do, and you leave all the negativity on the side, that’s the key for success in opinion.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Every artist are storytellers. Before I started to paint, i used to do sequential art, witches is making my own comic books. I remember that It was a huge entertainment for my friends from middle school, until high school. By drawing a lot, you upgrade your skills, and you get better and better every day.
From drawing a lot, i build consistency in my work, and consistency is one of the most Important skills to have, if you want your art to be recognized.
The lesson is, Nothing it’s easy specially when you know exactly what you want, and you know where you want to go in life. I talk about passion in the beginning of this interview. Having the passion gonna sets you apart from a majority of people who are doing the same career as you.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am an artist, so I love museum, galleries, and art shows. In my opinion, museum and galleries are the best way to find out about the culture of where you are. So I think museum and gallery are gonna be the go to.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Definitely my amazing family, my teacher in high school, Ms. Robyn Hayes Wilms, All my friends and Professors at SCAD, and myself for not giving up.
