We had the good fortune of connecting with Da Buket List and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Da Buket, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The concept of Da Buket List started from phone call. Dakhari and Kare were talking one day and Kare had a “throw out” idea proposing to start a podcast. When Dakhari asked him what he would name it, Da Buket List just immediately came to mind. From there, Da Buket List started in 2020 with Chase, Kare, Dunlap, and Dakhari.

We started the business to create opportunities for others. We believe in the concept of providing creative outlets to help individuals in the community around us.

What should our readers know about your business?
Da Buket List is not just a podcast. Although that is how we started, Da Buket List is truly developing into a multi-dimensional entertainment agency. This has a heavy impact on what sets us apart business-wise because we are able to provide a platform to broaden the brand awareness of various creatives and professionals.

To get to where we are now has not been easy. A big part of where we are now was bringing Dunlap “Briefcase” onto our team because she provided an energy and organization that brought all of our ideas together. In this journey we have learned a variety of lessons (and will continue to learn as we move forward), however one thing about our team is that we always make our ideas our own with communicating effectively and learning each other’s styles.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It depends on who you are with and when the trip is. The great thing about our group is that we are all different individuals working under a similar goal, therefore if your hanging out with us: one day maybe a business day where we are conducting interviews, one day you maybe at an underground party, the next maybe at Lfye or Ember with city night life, another day one may find themselves at an exclusive video shoot, or at Old Fourth Ward chilling.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many organizations and individuals who have helped us get to where we are now, however we must show appreciation towards the following: Our faith, parents, Georgia State, Hampton University, Howard University, The Arthur Blank Foundation, South Fulton, Atlanta Public Schools, and of course to our city of Atlanta.
