We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Diego and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Media is evolving and it’s being driven by tech. More people have the ability to create and be creative and the millennials want to do this full-time. I’m creative by heart. I grew up creating visual art, video games, short films, and more. It’s fun to be creative but it’s tough to be a business owner at the same time. I built Wise Assistant to be the all-in-one business and marketing platform for creatives. This way we can delegate the business work and we can get back to being creative.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My background in Journalism and Marketing means I approach everything from an analytical perspective. I’m naturally creative which shines through my business and technical knowledge. I started my career as a Project Manager for cloud computing applications but I quickly became a Product Manager. I found it easy to “climb the ladder” in corporate and I would challenge anybody to cut their teeth trying that for themselves as an entrepreneur. It’s a life-changing experience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I was my most creative self when I was backpacking across Europe in 2018. I will always aspire for a similar adventure for anyone. I’d love to spend a few months traveling across the great cities of the UK and Europe. We’d start in London and Amsterdam but make sure to check out Prague, this is a special one for me. I love Istanbul for its incredible food. We’ll end up on the beach in Greece or jumping off a cliff on the Amalfi Coast.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people that deserve the credit for helping me along this journey. My family and friends, of course, but most specifically the incredible team we have at Wise Assistant. The founding team includes Kyle Graden, Ryan Brandt, Kevin Hawkins, Zane Harris, Nattawod “Golfie” Satee, Alexis Solorio, Angelou de Bedout, and David Currie. There are so many other people to name but I’ll keep it short and sweet.
