We had the good fortune of connecting with Yvette Caslin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yvette, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Supernatural forces are definitely governing and have landed me here. One, I have worked for two very successful black entrepreneurs who are now multimillionaires. I worked for both in the early stages of their respective businesses, learning the ins and outs of how to run a business. Two, I witnessed and experienced the ups, downs, highs and lows of living on purpose. With faith, order, will and creativity, I know you can win. Three, there is a deep-rooted satisfaction in being able to experience no limits on your income and reap the fruit of your labor. Last, and by no means least, I have a strong passion to see my community and culture capitalize, infinitely and globally, on dreams of financial freedom and create generational wealth.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am the founder and CEO of The Pinkprint LLC, a financial services firm that offers tax preparation, loans and credit building. I am so happy and grateful that I am a federally licensed professional who can serve clients nationwide. I have a host of mentors, friends and family members to thank for pushing me and encouraging me to operate outside my zone of comfort. It hasn’t been easy, but with the prayers and guidance given by my spiritual connections, the steps have been orderly and the outcomes are favorable.
I have learned that a mentor is mandatory. Invest in yourself and find a seasoned coach that has real experience, a well-defined program and regular coaching sessions, preferably 3-4 times a week. You must trust your gut. Persistence is really important and you can’t always trust “feelings,” which are different than your gut. I am talking about feelings that are connected to your mood. Persevere.
There have been numerous occasions when I doubted my decision to bet on myself and I have felt like an imposter. But, I relied on my faith, repeated my affirmations three times a day like clockwork, emotionally invested in my decisions and committed to them. I created the Goal Digger Planner, which is for sale on Etsy and Shopify, as a guide to keep me on track and chronicle the steps on my journey.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Sunday: Worship at Buckhead Church. They a wonderful environment for the kids if they have to tag along. Brunch at Highland Bistro or Highland Bakery, they’re across the street from one another, so whoever has the shortest wait time. Take in an afternoon/evening of fun and libations at The Monticello.
Meatless Monday:
Browse around the shops at Ponce City Market. They’ve got to try Bar Vegan, which is a sister spot of Slutty Vegan and/or head over to the West End to experience Tassili’s Raw Reality restaurant and the ancillary events she’s planned for self-discovery, awareness and elevation.
Tuesday:
I am from the east side, so JJ Fish & Chicken will top the list for eating. Be sure to order the pineapple lemonade.
Wednesday:
Massage session with Kim Yokely (The Balm Lifestyle)
Thursday:
Shop and catch the latest Hollywood blockbuster at Atlantic Station or Phipps Plaza.
Friday:
An early lunch from The Busy Bee Café for their mouth-watering vegetables and their crispy fried chicken, that everyone can’t get enough of, an order of cobbler and an Uptown to drink.
Saturday:
It’s Atlanta, the home of the Civil Rights Movement. The best time ever with me would be visiting both The King Center and Stone Mountain Park, where I walk the five-mile trail at minimum three times a week for exercise.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents, first and foremost, have played the most integral part in my foundation. My late father who was also an entrepreneur. He was most instrumental in teaching me self-love. My mother, who is an octogenarian, introduced me to my faith. She illustrates her walk with Christ.
