We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyle Mills and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kyle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process and inspiration behind Graphics Design Media were realizing as a very young adult that A.I. was going to dominate most industries, combined with computing would leave many people with “regular jobs” unemployed. One thing that a robot could never accomplish is creating original Art. Thus, I put my artistic skills to use in graphic design and printing, creating Graphics Design Media; a fully custom-art business. I wanted to ensure that I could be self-reliant as well, and I also wanted to enjoy what I was doing while making other people happy with my work.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I like to say my art is multi-format. I consider myself an artist but not in the traditional sense. I don’t make art for galleries, even though I have many talents in classical, digital, traditional, and modern art techniques. I rely on those art forms to speak to each other to create new art. I’m most proud and excited to share my creations with the world. Nothing excites me more than the process of creating an original art piece and then seeing the reactions the piece creates in other people. More than anything, I want people to know that art is what I love most in this world, in all its forms. It was never easy to accomplish my dreams, but the love of art kept me inspired to keep pushing.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I could take my best friend anywhere in Las Vegas, it would be the Arts District. Munching on Tacotarian tacos while checking out some of the coolest art this town has to offer would be a great time. Being a major gamer myself, we’d definitely be hanging out at any one (or all!) of the arcades in town. Game Nest and the Pinball Hall of Fame are two places I would make sure to take them. We would also go to Area 51 to see all of the amazing art, interact with fun and like-minded people, and listen to great music at an event there.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife, Jenn, deserves so much recognition in my story. When we met, I wasn’t living my dreams out. I had the passion and the desire to create Graphics Design Media, but it wasn’t until I met her that I was able to pursue my dreams. Her hard work, dedication to me and my desires in life, and tough business mindset helped me move forward with making Graphics Design Media a reality. With her, we built GDM from the ground-up, working from scratch to create something out of nothing besides an idea and the passion to succeed.
